Mary Thorsby
Promoting Paducah’s people, places and parties since 2006 — camera in one hand, cocktail in the other. See her work all over iList Paducah.

Nikki D. May
Nikki is an artist on a mission to save the world from bad design. She is highly inappropriate, drinks too much coffee, spends too much time on the computer and would rather be drawing pretty pictures.

Laura K
Giving ‘em something to talk about (with style!) since 1972. Promotional services of all kinds are for hire. Fashion, travel, food and art musings are complimentary.

Suzanne Clinton
Serving up the random online musings of an over-thinking 40something liberal with a serious attitude problem and a dog that eats its own poop since 2005. Read her at Bizzyville.

I love the Radioactive City Roller Girls. I’ve been agog over them since they formed two years ago. Their athleticism. Their wild outfits. All those tattoos and piercings. The at-ti-TUDES!
But mostly I love their Roller Girl names like Evilyn A. Heathen, Blitzkrieg Betty and my personal favorite, Mean Mean Mississippi Queen.
I’d totally be a Roller Girl just to have a Roller Girl name. The only problem is that I don’t skate. And I really hate pain. God, can you imagine? I’d be all, “Take THAT! Oh, gosh, sorry, are you OK? Sorry, sorry, sorry! Let’s go get a drink.”
Anyway, the gals are gearing up for their first home bout in 2010, which they’ve cleverly dubbed Malice in Wonderland. Doors open at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at the Sportsplex. They’re taking on the Black n Blue Grass Roller Girls of Northern Kentucky at 7 p.m.
Tix are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. You can buy ‘em from both Etcetera Coffeehouse locations (see post below) and the Sportsplex.
Bring this flyer to the door for a $2 discount!
Roll on, Roller Girls! And thanks for adding your own special spark of color and creativity to Paducah!

Starting Monday, March 15, we can now get our Love Buzz on in two Etcetera Coffeehouse locations!
Etcetera Squared will open in downtown’s Market Square next to Kirchhoff’s, offering the same great coffees, bubble teas, other goodies and many of the same beautiful staff faces and artistically decorated arms, shoulders and backs — and some new ones — that we so enjoy at Etcetera’s 320 North 6th St. location in LowerTown.
Etcetera Squared hours: Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Right on, Etcetera! And Etcetera!
iList Paducah warmly welcomes Paducah Federal, A Community Credit Union, as our newest sponsor! Woo-Hoo! You’ll see their logo (which links to their Web site) on the right-hand side of our home page.
Paducah Federal is a non-profit co-operative that provides financial services to its members. In a credit union, members are the owners. There are no stockholders. That means profits are used to benefit the membership with higher savings rates, lower loan rates and other financial services at reduced fees, and in many cases no fees.
So have a looky look at their site and Fan ‘em up on Facebook where you’ll find lots of great giveaways.
Welcome aboard, Paducah Federal!
Our good friends at Harrah’s Metropolis are kicking off their new Chick Flick series of films, with Pretty Woman leading the way Saturday, April 10. Doors open at 7 p.m. for appetizers and a chance to win fab prizes, with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere steaming up the screen at 8 p.m.
It’s a great movie for a great cause — a portion of the proceeds benefits Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Kappa, which does really wonderful work for the community.
Just $10, plus taxes and fees and what-nots.Purchase tix online!
UPDATE: And the winner is…..Matt Jaeger, a Man Who Eats! Matt, I’ll hook you up with tickets shortly. Congrats — and thanks, everyone, for reading our blog!

I love, love, love this event! Men Who Cook is so incredibly fun — and for such a great cause. Ticket and auction item sales benefit the Purchase Area Sexual Assault & Child Advocacy Center, which is run by the very, very lovely Mary Foley. The event is 7 p.m., Saturday, March 13, at the Convention/Expo Center in Paducah.
We’re featuring several of the chef’s in this week’s iLove it column!
And we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away! Want ‘em? Just .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or leave a comment (be sure to include your email address) and we’ll do a random drawing Friday morning. Good luck!
Nikki and I are both excited and flattered to be included in Bazooka’s The Best of Paducah picks! Nikki was named Best Local Artist — woo-hoo! And I am delighted to share the Most Popular moniker with my friend Dan Tanner of The Union Suit, also winner of Best Band - Original.
And, by the way, special shout out to Best DJ Tony Foo Yong and iList Paducah sponsors Doe’s Eat Place (Best Steak), Pasta House (Best Pasta), Mother Duncan’s (Best Bar Food), Artisan Kitchen (Best Desserts) and Kirchhoff’s (Best Sandwiches)!
And we’re in good company! To see who won Friendliest, Best Sense of Humor, Most Unforgettable and more, pick up the March issue.
Super, super cute, everyone! Thanks so much to Bella and Bazooka!

Many thanks to Paducah Sun reporter, cute, cute, cute Alan Reed, for yesterday’s FRONT PAGE COVERAGE of our Maiden Alley Night at the Oscars party. There, front and center, are Kenn and Kendra Gray — known around here as Kenndra. They successfully defended their Best Dressed Couple title — two years in a row! Way to dress, Kenndra!

Winner of Best Dressed Man: Joshua Comley, no doubt about it! The shoes may make the man….

...but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have a girlfriend as the beyond beautifully lovely Andrea Ivey!

Best Dressed Woman: The movie-star-looking Amber Brayton, escorted by the very handsome Wayne G. Yates. Love, love, love that dress!

And Goddess of the People? Kevin Crouch, of course! Nothing oozes of Goddessness quite like Kevin Crouch….
By the way, congratulations to Bobbie Wrinkle of the McCracken County Public Library! She had the highest number of correct predictions in our Oscars poll, choosing a spot-on eight out of 11 categories!
Many thanks to everyone for coming, and for DJ Urban Kobbb, DJLJ, Artisan Kitchen, Brett Duwe of Cynthia’s Ristorante, Julie Shaw, Keith Ford, Bill Fox, John Paul Henry and S&W Productions — and, of course, to gorgeous Laura K (Melissa to my Joan Rivers) — for making this such a rockin’ event, which raises much-needed funds for our amazing independent theatre — Maiden Alley Cinema!

We’re not always lucky enough to get fun photos of Keith Ford at our events — he’s almost always working his magic behind his camera. But we did manage to get this super cute one at our Maiden Alley Night at the Oscars party! Look out, George Clooney!
All my photos — along with pix that several guests were kind enough to take with my camera, including the one above — are on our iList Paducah Flickr page!
Enjoy!

Ahhh! Super cute! Our favorite bartographer Brian Steffen with his gorgeous little Gracie and that breath-taking beauty Ginny Harris!

And the next set of pictures is from our newest iList contributor, John Henry. Click through the slideshow to see the full sized photos and purchase prints if you like… John is kindly donating 50% of the proceeds to Maiden Alley! Thanks John!
