Super cute Paducah Sun reporter Angie Kinsey offered up some good news this past Saturday from the lovely Bellewood Homes for Children. The group, which helps foster kids, 18-21, make a smooth transition into independent living, is now offering a therapeutic foster care program for kids who have been abused and/or neglected.
That's cute, cute, cute Craig Felker and Gwen Taylor of Bellewood, helping one of their clients with some housing information. Craig and Gwen are the BEST and are totally sweet to work with.
If you've ever thought about becoming a foster parent, Bellewood can help get you get started. You must complete 46 hours of training, plus 30 more hours each year. Once you welcome a child (or children!) into your home, you'll receive $1,650 (per child) plus a $50 monthly clothing allowance. Um, that's for the kid — not you, so don't be getting any big ideas! You'll also be reimbursed for mileage, birthdays, school stuff, etc...
For more info on this wonderful program, call Gwen, 443.8181, or send her an
