May we have a Do-Si-Do drum roll please? The winner of our two tickets is: Dahdahdahdahdahdahdum: Pam Whinnery! Woo Hoo! Pam, we’ll be in touch on how best to serve you your tickets! By the way, check out Pam’s own fabulous cookbooks. Perhaps some of the Girl Scout recipes will make the cut for the next one!

And here’s another one of my favorite events: The Girls Scouts’ Desserts First fundraiser! Gourmet desserts made by local gourmet chefs using Girl Scout Cookies! How genius is THAT?

Here’s who’s on board so far:

• Kirchhoff’s Bakery & Deli
• Etcetera Coffeehouse
Doe’s Eat Place
• Neil’s Catering
Artisan Kitchen
• Paducah-McCracken County Senior Citizens Center
Di Fratelli’s
West Kentucky Technical College Culinary School
• Cynthia Sanderson, Family Court Judge
• Whaler’s Catch
• Tribeca
• Just Hors d’oeuvres, a Mother-Daughter Duo
• Paducah Police Department
Cynthia’s
• Dr. Parks, Lourdes Hospital
• David Boggs
• Cabot Creamery
• Downtown Coffee Bar

This year’s event is set for 6-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Carson Center. Tix are $30, with reserved tables of 10 for $350. And the scouts are open to corporate sponsors, so if you’re interested in doing something really sweet for this sweet event, contact Aretta Terry.

By the way, we have two free tickets to give away! Want ‘em? Leave a sweet comment! We’ll draw the winner Friday, Jan. 14!

This sounds like such an awesome event. Wasn’t it last year it got rearranged due to weather? Fingers crossed, here’s hoping for great weather, a large turn out and a successful fund raiser!  Good luck!

I love to cook and constantly experimenting with new ideas. My favorite girl scout cookie is the THIN MINTS. I use them for the crust on a mint cheesecake and then place one on top of each slice (nested in a dab of whip cream), when it is served. GREAT! TRY IT!

Sounds like a yummy event.

As a former Girl Scout I know what a wonderful experience scouting is for girls.

Love those shortbread Girl Scout cookies.

I don’t know how they can make a Tagalong taste any better - but i’m willing to find out! I’ll sneak a bag off pretzels in because I have to have something salty with all my sweets. ;)

What a wonderful idea for such a great cause!  I would love to win some tickets, so that I too could experience this “sweet” event.

A great fundraiser for a wonderful group of young ladies.  A “sweet” deal for the public to help with raising funds for the Girl Scouts.

Girl Scout cookies are great by themselves. Beginning with great ingredients (Girl Scout cookies) you know the desserts will be excellent!
