Congratulations to Dr. Deborah Pape! She's been named vice president of Economic Development at West Kentucky Community & Technical College. Wa-hoo! We always like to see a sister step up the career ladder.
Here's the scoop from the lovely Janett Blythe's press release: Pape moves into the position held for five years by Dr. Paul McInturff. WKCTC President Barbara Veazey (Love her! Oh, that part's mine, not Janett's...though I'm sure she loves BV, too...) said McInturff has decided to reduce his hours and remain at the college overseeing the adult education program and special projects. The position change took effect July 1.
"Dr. Pape has been working three years with the college in the area of workforce development, and she has done an excellent job," Dr. V. says. "As the new emerging technology center is developing, the workforce and economic development will be the keystone of the center. This is a great time for Dr. Pape to assume this position as Dr. McInturff has chosen to reduce his workload and devote himself to other important initiatives of the college."
Congratulations, Dr. Pape!
By the way, the groundbreaking for the Emerging Technology Center is set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, next to the Allied Health Building.
