Nikki is an artist on a mission to save the world from bad design. She is highly inappropriate, drinks too much coffee, spends too much time on the computer and would rather be drawing pretty pictures.

Mary Thorsby
Camera in one hand, cocktail in the other, MareMare shares her favorite people, places and parties in Louisville. Find her “finds” intriguing? Then go check ‘em out. And take her to dinner after. Oh, she does corporate stuff, too.

All sorts of teams are out and about today filming scenes for the 48 Hour Film Project. Evan Bright and I have been following Funky Little Shack Productions, made up mostly of Market House Theatre actors and crew. That's Mike Brewer behind the counter, with Ben Dolan in the red shirt. Adam Gilliam (below) is behind the camera.
The team has sworn me to secrecy — I'm not supposed to divulge details about their movie. But here's a hint: A valet and a bagel must be involved. And someone has to say: "Do you know what you're asking me to do?" And "holiday" is the genre they drew.
If you've been reading along, you already knew that part. So I'm not divulgin' anything specific here. Just that one or more of those bits may or may not be included in the scene shot today in a certain downtown bakery.
And then there's this fun scene at a certain downtown coffee shop with Adam playing a customer and Elyse Millizer as the very funny waitress.
The team is so taken with Evan that he's now serving as script and dialogue coach — he happens to be an expert on a certain subject — and he's even been cast in the movie! That's Audra Hall messin' up his hair.
It won't be Evan's first movie performance today. When we stopped by to say hello to the team from A Good Size Productions, we ended up with walk-on roles in their mockumentary! Which, by the way, features this fella:
That's Daryl Hargrove. He can spin pillows. Which may or may not be included in their movie. I'm not divulgin'.
But I will divulge this: Please plan to see all the movies at Maiden Alley this Tuesday or Wednesday, and don't miss the awards on Thursday. All at 7 p.m.
