Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Iron Chef Media Challenge: Oh, It's On!

In yesterday's Current, we three were asked to describe the one thing we have to eat at BBQ on the River. Suzanne was all about anything served on a stick. Patience couldn't quite decide between Buzzard Brothers pulled pork and those monstrous turkey legs. My answer: Whatever iList Paducah's DJ Urban Kobbb cooks up in this afternoon's Iron Chef Media Challenge. DJUK — a whiz in the kitchen — is pitted against several radio stations and the Paducah Sun. However, I mistakenly reported that the Sun snagged last year's award. They did not. The big ol' trophy belongs to this man: Cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it, Bear on the Air. That's him on the right, playing around with DJUK yesterday. Bear on the Air, by the way, is DAR-LING! And so sweet. He was even offering us a few tips yesterday. The Iron Chef Media Challenge works like this: At precisely 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, these culinary competitors collect coolers of mystery meat and spices. In four hours, they'll transform the raw materials into mouth-watering masterpieces. At 6:30 p.m., the judges select their favorite — not just in taste — presentation counts, too. They could hand DJUK a rack of dead raccoon from the Executive Inn and my money'd still be on him. The boy can rock a grill as magically as he works his deejay deck. So, evidently, Bear and Dr. Jeff, also DAR-LING, were trash talkin' us on WKYQ the other day, saying that the only way we'd win the challenge was if we blogged them to death. They're obviously unacquainted with DJUK's love of a challenge — and his preparation skills. Behold: His gear. Fish, chicken, pork, raccoon: DJUK is ready to cook up a mess of whatever's coming his way. This is him yesterday, totin' and packin' all our stuff down to the Riverfront. Our booth is right in front of the stage, just a few strategic steps from the Paducah Symphony Beer Garden. Please stop by this afternoon and cheer him on!
