Nikki D. May
Nikki is an artist on a mission to save the world from bad design. She is highly inappropriate, drinks too much coffee, spends too much time on the computer and would rather be drawing pretty pictures.

Mary Thorsby
Camera in one hand, cocktail in the other, MareMare shares her favorite people, places and parties in Louisville. Find her “finds” intriguing? Then go check ‘em out. And take her to dinner after. Oh, she does corporate stuff, too.

Laura K
Giving ‘em something to talk about (with style!) Promotional services of all kinds are for hire. Fashion, travel, food and art musings are complimentary.

Kelsie Gray is a poetess, pie alchemist, and English teacher. She lives with three cats who all suffer from varying degrees of insanity and makes a hobby of photographing herself in bathtubs that do not belong to her.

Suzanne Clinton
Serving up the random online musings of an over-thinking 40-something liberal with a serious attitude problem and a dog that eats its own poop since 2005. Read her at Bizzyville.

Jessica Perkins
Always on the hunt for interesting people and places around town, Jessica loves to create buzz about everything Paducah!

Nikki and I are SUPER EXCITED about this new initiative coming to Paducah, 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 6, at WKCTC’s beautiful Emerging Technology Center. It’s called The Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative — a FREE regional forum for female students of all ages. So if you’ve got any or know any, please bring ‘em! Parents and business and community members are welcome, too.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, subjects I hated in school — well, we didn’t have Technology then, but I’m sure I would have hated that, too. However, if we’d had a cool conference with really cool women role models all around, I may not have been so intimidated by it all.
Check out the flyer and speakers:
Jennifer Rukavina, WPSD-TV
Jeanne Davis, Cooperative Extension Service
LaDonna Knoth, Marquette Transportation
Mary Pettus-Rowland, Pettus-Roland Funeral Home
Dianne Leveridge, UK College of Engineering — Project Lead the Way
Dr. Evelyn Jones, WellSprings Dermatology
Plus, Nikki and I will have our iList Paducah booth there to show how we’ve embraced technology and made our own funky little business out of it. We’re bringing Vera Piggsley, too, for photo ops!
Many thanks to the Chamber’s Business Education Partnership folks for partnering with the Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative to coordinate this event. Key sponsors include WellSprings Dermatology, USEC, Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Paducah River City BPW, UK College of Engineering, WKCTC and Swift & Staley.
Again, it’s totally free — just register here.
See you there!
