Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Lesbian Link Love

Suzanne over there at Bizzyville shares some big ol' link love with us today, complimenting us for featuring Lacy Williams as our newest iDate of the Week on iList Paducah. Lacy is the first open and out lesbian we've featured in that spot. So Suzanne is giving us some sweet props, which we always appreciate. I'm not sure why it took us so long to find a super cute lesbian like Lacy — we just hadn't had one step up to the iDate plate before now. We're glad Lacy did. We've featured a gay man (William Sledd) and two bi-sexual men (Kenn Gray and Jody Cofer). And I suspect we've had a few more gay iDates, but they were hesitant to be open about it. Frankly, I've found folks in Paducah to be quite gay friendly. So I'm hopeful that we'll see that sort of hesitation become a thing of the past. Because it just doesn't matter. We're all just people, and all of us need and deserve some good lovin'. Nice people, anyway. Actually, if cranky people had some good lovin' too, they probably wouldn't be so cranky. Speaking of which. We're pleased to report that we've received only one cranky email about our featuring a lesbian iDate. We're even more pleased to report that we've received tons of supportive email and Facebook messages. Look for those on iList Paducah next Wednesday. It really comes down to this: Straight, gay, lesbian, bi, trans, white, black, brown or shades in between — if you're SINGLE and you'd like to be featured as our iDate of the Week, we want you. And we want the column to do a better job of reflecting the wonderful diversity of our community. Thanks, Suzanne — and (almost) everyone — for helping us do that.
