Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Look Who's Blogging Again!

Yep, we're back! In today's Current, we're asked about the last song that stuck in our heads. Suzanne The Over Thinker manages to fit a Maria Callas aria in between all the other thousands of thoughts that compete for brain space at any one given time. Patience goes for "Mamma Mia!" followed closely by "Brother Where Art Thou." I get hung up on "Hung Up" by Madonna. And not just the song itself, but the video. Have you seen the video? Have you seen her? At 50, Madonna looks better than ever. And "Hung Up," her biggest selling single to date, has been hung up in my brain all year long. I'm an Internet addict. Web sites, blogs, email, Twitter, Facebook— I love it all. So when it comes to choosing between surfing the Web and a good, sweaty workout, I often go to YouTube and gawk at Madonna for inspiration. As she prances around in that hot-pink leotard and heels, I make my not-nearly-so-stylish jammies-to-sweats-and-sneakers transition and prance on down to the treadmill. If I can slog through the San Antonio Rock-n-Roll half marathon this Sunday without crying, it's because of Madonna. We'll see.
