Easter Seals West Kentucky is proud to introduce Ryan Leslie as the 2011 Adult Representative for the 55th Annual Telethon of the Stars. Ryan is a Murray resident who has been engaging supports through Easter Seals West Kentucky for several years now.
“Ryan always has a smile,” says David Sexton, LPN who has worked with Ryan at Easter Seals West Kentucky’s Adult Day Care Center for the past five years. Everyone close to Ryan gives praise about his friendship and kind spirit.
Ryan is also a Dukes of Hazzard enthusiast and loves all things related to the General Lee from the show. He travels to events for Dukes of Hazzard fans. Ryan and his dad are fixing up their own General Lee and hope to have it in working order someday so they can show it off at local parades. They love to go to the barn and listen to “Froggy” and work on the General Lee together.
“Ryan loves going to Easter Seals; he goes every day,” states his mother, Sabrina. “The staff is wonderful and the program is great. They are always doing something there, whether it be social activities or field trips. Ryan loves it all!”
How does Ryan’s time at Easter Seals help his mother? “When Ryan is at Easter Seals, I can get things done that need to be done. I can work, run errands and just have time. Then when Ryan comes home, I can focus on him. We can relax and talk about his day. My time with Ryan is important.”
Through the contributions to the Lions Club/WPSD Local 6 Telethon of Stars, Ryan and his friends at Easter Seals West Kentucky’s Adult Day Care Center will continue to receive the services needed to enhance their lives.
Be sure to join Ryan November 12th & 13th from 10 p.m. Sat to 1 p.m. Sun at Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center in Paducah, KY. Or, watch us at home or live online!
