Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Our Shadow Day

Students from the Carlisle County High School Gifted and Talented Program shadowed various Paducah folks yesterday, and I was lucky enough to have the lovely Kendra Hays, senior, spend a few hours with me. She's absolutely darling, and I'm always excited to hear about kids interested in studying journalism, which she plans to do at UK, after two years at WKCTC. You know, we've always got some hot scoop up around here at iList Paducah — including the news that Dippin' Dots has a fabulous new storefront just across the way from the old one at Kentucky Oaks Mall. Kendra and I deployed ourselves over there for a little visit with Corporate Communications Director Terry Reeves — that's them, above. The new spot is hot, no doubt about it, with all sort of new treats like Dippin' Dots ice cream, shakes, floats and, as you can see above, sundaes with real Ghirardelli chocolate and all sorts of other flavors which we, as investigative reporters, felt necessary to sample! Look for our feature story next week on iList Paducah. In the meantime, stop by the new Dippin' Dots and try a few new things! (I was totally diggin' the Solar Freeze.) We then visited with hunky Paul Bilak, founder of Project AIDS Orphan. He and his team are planning several events to recognize the Dec. 1 World AIDS Day, including a One World Run set for 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, in Noble Park. iList Paducah is a sponsor of the run, and word on the trail is that DJ Urban Kobbb will deejay AND run the race at the same time. Go here for more details, and we'll post a story on iList Paducah soon. Next it was on to the Paducah River City BPW Awards Lunch, catered by iList Paducah sponsor The Pasta House — way fun. Congratulations to Denton & Kueler, which received this year's Business Equity Award. Founded in 1979, the Paducah law firm employs 14 attorneys and a support staff of more than 20 people. More than 60 percent are women. And founder David Denton (far right) is really about as cute as he can be. And special congratulations to Stacey Blankenship! Stacey received the Woman of Achievement award. Stacey is an attorney/partner with Denton & Keuler. She has a bachelor of science degree — cum laude — from Murray State, and her JD — also cum laude — from SIU. Besides being gorgeous, Stacey is a member of all sorts of legal organizations and was honored recently as a Life Fellow by the Kentucky State Bar Foundation for "Outstanding Commitment to Public Service and Improvement of the Legal Profession." Rock on, Stacey! And thank you, Kim Hunt, for the BPW photos. Whew, you'd think after that very busy morning that we'd be ready for cocktail hour. But alas, it was only 1 p.m. And alas and alack, Kendra is not yet 21, as evidenced from the photo in the previous post where she makes me look half dead. So we did the next best thing... ...shopping with Laura K! Actually, we weren't shopping. We were, again, entrenched in our investigative journalism. Laura is working on an iList Paducah story to promote the Paducah Symphony's Little Black Dress Ball, set for Saturday, November 15, at the Country Club of Paducah. We're going to do a fun feature on different ways to wear a LBD, so stay tuned for that. Laura is here at Lela's Boutique looking at the same dress our "Charlotte" (The United Way's Ashley Wright) wore in the SATC fashion show this week. We'll use that dress along with other pieces from Lela's and... ...Cassity's, where our investigation ended. You'll see that Kendra is now joined by pal Marlena, who'd been shadowing Jackie Nance of Williams, Williams & Lentz. The gals tried on a few things, themselves, before heading back to the bus and back to school. So all in all? I'd say it was a pretty fun day here at iList Paducah. Most of 'em are. And if the gals had just been a tad bit older, they could have joined Laura and me at Doe's for our official investigative debrief meeting. Nonetheless, big fun! Thanks, Kendra!
