Olive Garden held two complimentary wine tastings this week to celebrate their new Tuscan inspired design change. Refreshments and renovations…sounds good, yes? I stopped by Wednesday to check it out, and both the wine tasting event and new decor are just lovely! Many thanks to General Manger Todd Cromwell and staff.
Interior updates include new décor, tables, chairs and booths that emanate the warm, rustic tones of a Tuscan Farmhouse. Another update includes a refreshed bar area that reflects a true, Tuscan-inspired space, with a more modern and sophisticated feel. Everything to me seemed lighter and brighter! Later this month they will also receive brand new wine racks that are straight from Italy.
Led by Olive Garden’s Wine Specialists, the tastings educate guests on Italian wines including their origin, body style, aroma, flavor/finish and food pairings. The wines featured are from around Italy and are paired with some of Olive Garden’s delicious food. The tastings began with a Pinot Grigio (Sartori, Delle Venezie) followed by a Fiano (Mandra Rossa, Sicily). I am normally not a huge fan of anything but the driest of wines but these were very good! Next were the reds, Nero d’Avola (Arancio, Sicily) and a Sangiovese-Syrah (Rocca delle Macie SaSyr, Tuscany) that was made especially for The Olive Garden. These were more my style and the Syrah was definately my fave. A tasty sampling of pomodoro tomatoes, bread, Grana Padano cheese, and marinated olives were served also to pair with the wines. Lastly I enjoyed sampling a nice Moscato (Castello del Poggi, Piedmont). Even though Moscato is a sweeter wine I can always enjoy a bit of it with dessert, and my server had several complimentary sweets to choose from.

If you missed out on the wine tastings this week, you have two more chances next week, and there will be some special hosts there as well. On Tuesday, October 12, Director of Operations Pam Denton and Culinary Manger Beth Cavenah will be there, and on Wednesday, October 13, Division Senior VP Sam Pereira will be in attendance. Both tastings are from 6 pm- 8 pm.
To further celebrate The Olive Garden’s design refresh, I have a $25 gift certificate to give away just for ilistpaducah.com readers! Simply leave a comment on this post and we’ll pick a winner Monday evening. Be sure to use your name when commenting so we can properly identify the winner. Good luck!

The Olive Garden is my favorite restaurant in Paducah! The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is always better than expected. I look forward to seeing how it looks now that it’s been renovated, thanks!
