Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Say Goodbye to Ugly Flash Photos!

alt textI have one more really awesome product that I’ve been meaning to shout-out here on our little blog. And with the holidays upon us, now’s as good a time as any!

Any photographers out there? Fans of photographers? Whether you’re a pro or simply a photog-as-you-go, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE Professor Kobré’s Lightscoop. It’s a camera attachment that creates soft, flattering light by redirecting your camera’s pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall. This absolutely eliminates all the icky shadows and evil red eye that often ruins our otherwise gorgeous photos.

David Pogue, the tech guy from The New York Times, is a huge fan, calling it one of the best technology products of the decade….

alt textAnd Dave Johnson of PC World just gave it a big holiday gift ideas thumbs’ up.

The best thing about the Lightscoop is that it was invented by one of my oldest and very best friends, Ken Kobré (left), an awfully famous photojournalist and photojournalism professor. He teaches at San Francisco State, and he’s truly one of the wonderful people on the planet.

Anyhootie, buy a Lightscoop for yourself or anyone you’re partial to, and your photos will be the better for it!
