I wanted to say a few more words about the cute, cute, cute Redding Brothers and their way-fun performance at BBQ on the River this weekend. Our iList Paducah booth was right across from the main stage, so we had front-row seats for all the bands.
It just so happened that when the Redding Brothers performed on Saturday, our booth was filled with one married woman (me) and several gorgeously unmarried women. And I'm telling you. The booth was a-flutter over these fellas.
OK, I was too. But that's because I interviewed this one:
For the story below in the Four Rivers Business Journal. That's Micah Redding, and we're friends on Twitter, which is a totally cool way to share catchy little thoughts with folks, though my tweets aren't nearly as interesting as his.
I know a bit about this stuff (about 800 word's worth) because of the column that came out Thursday. This one is about social networking on the Web. In it, I share thoughts from the Paducah Symphony's Darlene Dreyer, the Carson Center's Lisa Lauck and Rotaract's Crystal Hutchison Jeter on their use of Facebook and The Union Suit's Cory Greene on his use of MySpace.
I also talked with Green Turtle Bay's Laura Thornton on her use of LinkedIn, WPSD-TV's Bill Evans and Paducah Parenting's Karen Hammond on their use of Twitter and WKCTC Paducah 2's Tom Butler on his use of YouTube — all as extra ways to promote your organization and business. I don't think it's posted online yet, but print copies are circulating around to Chamber members. Let me know if you'd like a copy.
Anyway, back to the Redding Brothers. Along with using lots of online social networking tools to promote the band, according to reddingbrothers.com, they grew up hearing their dad play Johnny Cash while listening to '90s rock. And now, based in Nashville, they're building their own brand of scruffy, intelligent rock and roll sound. They've played with Sister Hazel, Gin Blossoms and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. And look how cute they are! That's Josiah, above.
And here's Gabriel, who likes to let his hair down in the middle of a wild drum set.
Anyway, check out their reddingbrothers.com Web site for more info. I hear they'll be back in town for the WPSD-TV telethon. Details to come!
