Kelsie Gray is a poetess, pie alchemist, and English teacher. She lives with three cats who all suffer from varying degrees of insanity and makes a hobby of photographing herself in bathtubs that do not belong to her.

Suzanne Clinton
Serving up the random online musings of an over-thinking 40-something liberal with a serious attitude problem and a dog that eats its own poop since 2005. Read her at Bizzyville.

Wow. Week 1 of Western Kentucky's most miserable winter storm — in history, right? Well, certainly in our history, and certainly a week without power, heat and no Internets must be taking its toll. Folks are doing such a great job of documenting it all online, including my new Facebook friend Kim Newbern. These are her devastating photos:
Ouch. But leave it to the lovely Iris Shreve Garrott to capture the beauty of the storm on her Flickr page, including this one:
Almost makes it seem romantic — until you visit Suzanne Clinton's blog where she tells the very difficult reality of it all. This kerosene heater, which a neighbor brought to her the other day, was her new favorite thing until she procured a generator. Now, the usually very feminine and demure Suzanne can pull a ripcord and count wattages with the best of them.
I've also been in awe of Patience Renzulli's blog. Two people living in a house without power is difficult enough. Add in eight whippets and you've really got a challenge on your hands...
...or extra warmth at night, depending on how you look at it. Look for Patience's story in the iPet section of iList Paducah this Wednesday.
