Many thanks to Adam Shull for featuring our Chick Flicks series in yesterday's Paducah Sun. There's gorgeous Landee Bryant, Maiden Alley Cinema's executive director. She, Robyn Shapiro, Jill Chambers and I started the series back in October with two, count 'em, two showings of Sex and the City, and we've been thrilled with the response! The lead sponsor for the series is Contemporary OB/GYN of Western Kentucky. René Advertising and iList Paducah are also key sponsors.
The next flick is An Officer and a Gentleman, tomorrow night, Tuesday, Jan. 20 . It's $10, and includes beer and popcorn with the money going to Maiden Alley and to the Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center. You can just pay at the door — make your check out in advance to Maiden Alley Cinema — but .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)'>email me so that we know how much beer to buy. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the movie starts at 7 p.m.
The next, next Chick Flick is actually Maiden Alley's Oscar Night Gala sponsored by our good friends at James Marine. It's Sunday, Feb. 22, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the Oscars rolling at 7 p.m. It's going to be a fantastic party, so please plan to join us! Send your $50 check, payable to Maiden Alley, to Jill Chambers, 601 Jefferson St., Paducah 42001. And again, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)'>email me if you'd like to come so that we can keep you in the loop as our planning shapes up.
