Nikki D. May
Nikki is an artist on a mission to save the world from bad design. She is highly inappropriate, drinks too much coffee, spends too much time on the computer and would rather be drawing pretty pictures.

Mary Thorsby
Camera in one hand, cocktail in the other, MareMare shares her favorite people, places and parties in Louisville. Find her “finds” intriguing? Then go check ‘em out. And take her to dinner after. Oh, she does corporate stuff, too.

Laura K
Giving ‘em something to talk about (with style!) Promotional services of all kinds are for hire. Fashion, travel, food and art musings are complimentary.

Kelsie Gray is a poetess, pie alchemist, and English teacher. She lives with three cats who all suffer from varying degrees of insanity and makes a hobby of photographing herself in bathtubs that do not belong to her.

Suzanne Clinton
Serving up the random online musings of an over-thinking 40-something liberal with a serious attitude problem and a dog that eats its own poop since 2005. Read her at Bizzyville.

Jessica Perkins
Always on the hunt for interesting people and places around town, Jessica loves to create buzz about everything Paducah!

Saturday, May 26

Ah, yay! We’re flattered to be included in Paducah Sun Business Editor Joe Walker’s first in a series that investigates how area companies use social networking to expand their branding.

He, of course, interviewed social networking leaders at Paducah Bank. William Sledd (left, with the bank’s lovely Susan Guess) gave this great quote: “Especially for local businesses, it’s becoming a crucial part of their advertising. People are jumping on board like the industrial revolution, but I don’t think it replaces anything. It helps complete the overall package of getting maximum exposure.” (Well done, William!)
Joe also interviewed Curt Jones from Dippin’ Dots, Jack Fares of Four Rivers Harley-Davidson and…me! I talked about Nikki’s and my use of social media to complement what we do here on iList Paducah.
“You can totally overdo a sales pitch,” I noted. “But if you show a lot of generosity, social networking will come back to you.”
Hopefully, we come close to striking the right balance. We’re always interested in our readers’ .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) on how we can do it all better!

Thanks, Joe, for including us in your story!
