Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic

Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Speaking of Beautiful Faces and Decorated Body Parts

imageI love the Radioactive City Roller Girls. I’ve been agog over them since they formed two years ago. Their athleticism. Their wild outfits. All those tattoos and piercings. The at-ti-TUDES!

But mostly I love their Roller Girl names like Evilyn A. Heathen, Blitzkrieg Betty and my personal favorite, Mean Mean Mississippi Queen.

I’d totally be a Roller Girl just to have a Roller Girl name. The only problem is that I don’t skate. And I really hate pain. God, can you imagine? I’d be all, “Take THAT! Oh, gosh, sorry, are you OK? Sorry, sorry, sorry! Let’s go get a drink.”

Anyway, the gals are gearing up for their first home bout in 2010, which they’ve cleverly dubbed Malice in Wonderland. Doors open at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at the Sportsplex. They’re taking on the Black n Blue Grass Roller Girls of Northern Kentucky at 7 p.m.

Tix are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. You can buy ‘em from both Etcetera Coffeehouse locations (see post below) and the Sportsplex.
