Yep, the fab William Sledd is back with some exciting action up his well-dressed cyber sleeve. He's the new social media consultant for Paducah Bank, helping the bank connect more closely with customers in a tightly connected world he knows so well — the Web.
"Communication and the exchange of information are critical to our continued success, and many of our younger customers have come to rely almost exclusively on the social media for their source of information," says Paducah Bank CEO Joe Framptom. "The Internet, Twitter and Facebook have all become primary methods of communication. We believe it’s critical to stay in touch with our ‘friends’ and clients so that we can best serve the financial needs of all our customers at any age."
And who better to deposit that task with than a YouTube celebrity, right here in Paducah? William, of course, rose to cyber stardom after posting very funny fashion videos that he shot while working as a GAP employee at the Kentucky Oaks Mall. His images and slightly sarcastic — but always sweet — commentaries are loved by millions of viewers.
He's already creating great buzz for the bank. The Paducah Bank Facebook page he launched Monday already has more than 500 fans. And his Paducah Bank Twitter page now has more than 50 followers. Check back next week and those numbers will be HUGE.
“When I started thinking about how a bank is going to interact with everyday people in the world of Facebook walls and Tweets, I got energized and the ideas started rushing in,” Wiliam says. “We don't want to push information or products; we want to interact with the community, give some stuff away and have fun doing it. I'm just gonna say this to anyone who is following Paducah Bank on Twitter or Facebook: it's going to be exciting!”
To join in the fun, check out the Paducah Bank Facebook page and click "Become a Fan" at the top. And be sure to follow William's Paducah Bank Tweets on Twitter.
