Hands On St. Nick - A Makeover
St. Nicholas Family Clinic
1901 Kentucky Ave.
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Come help us give this 20 year old organization a NEW LOOK! Help us paint, clean, organize and create a welcoming environment for our patients and the community.

Specific needs include: taping & mudding supplies, paint & artwork groupings, rugs, blinds & plants/interior foliage, soft fluorescents, baby changing station (x2), office organizers, L-shape desk, chairs, coffee tables, flooring – wood laminate & vinyl or tile, and volunteers.

Having served almost 7,000 patients since opening in 1994, St. Nicholas Family Free Clinic has made a significant impact on the health of our community and region. We are looking forward to giving back to the clinic by recruiting local businesses and volunteers to help lay new floors, freshen the walls with new paint, and organize the space for people to be proud of. Featuring JLF Interior Designs.

Win free tix to the Storytelling Event in Grand Rivers!

Who doesn’t love a good story?  Next weekend, you can hear plenty of them at the Grand Rivers Third Annual Storytelling Event - Friday and Saturday, October 8 and 9 at 7 pm at Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers.  This event features entertaining songs, poetry, and stories from professional tellers with national acclaim!  This event makes for a great night out for the entire family that is different from the same ‘ol, same ‘ol.  The songs and spoken word are funny, touching, thought-provoking, and thoroughly entertaining.  After attending last year I will definately be back again this year.

Michael Reno Hall and Mitch Capel

Mitch Capel is considered “the national interpreter” of poet laureate Paul Laurence Dunbar.  Mitch has been featured at The National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN. and annually at the traveling National Black Storytelling Festival and Conference since 1988.  Also featured is Michael Reno Harrell, an award winning songwriter, a veteran storyteller and entertainer. Michael’s recordings top the Americana Music Association charts year after year. Michael has also been featured at The National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN, and performs at major music events across the country.

Just for ilistpaducah readers, we have free pair of tickets to the Storytelling Event to give away!  Just leave a comment here and we will draw a random winner on Tuesday, October 5!  You can choose which night you prefer to attend and we’ll leave the tickets at Badgett Playhouse for you to pick up that night.

If you don’t win, no worries!  Special ticket prices are available for the Storytelling Event.  Just call Badgett Playhouse at 888-362-4233 to purchase.
Adults — $14.00 plus tax
Seniors — $12.00 plus tax
Children 17 & under — $11.00 plus tax

And guess what?  The Storytelling Event is the same weekend as Grand Rivers’ famous Hunters Moon Fall Festival.  Check it out Saturday for food and craft vendors, children’s activities, and the big parade.

Find more information on the Storytelling Event and Hunters Moon Fall Festival, visit Grand Rivers online at www.grandrivers.org.

One of the greatest art forms is the spoken word.  Sounds amazing.
