Nikki D. May
Nikki is an artist on a mission to save the world from bad design. She is highly inappropriate, drinks too much coffee, spends too much time on the computer and would rather be drawing pretty pictures.

Mary Thorsby
Camera in one hand, cocktail in the other, MareMare shares her favorite people, places and parties in Louisville. Find her “finds” intriguing? Then go check ‘em out. And take her to dinner after. Oh, she does corporate stuff, too.

Laura K
Giving ‘em something to talk about (with style!) Promotional services of all kinds are for hire. Fashion, travel, food and art musings are complimentary.

Kelsie Gray is a poetess, pie alchemist, and English teacher. She lives with three cats who all suffer from varying degrees of insanity and makes a hobby of photographing herself in bathtubs that do not belong to her.

Suzanne Clinton
Serving up the random online musings of an over-thinking 40-something liberal with a serious attitude problem and a dog that eats its own poop since 2005. Read her at Bizzyville.

Jessica Perkins
Always on the hunt for interesting people and places around town, Jessica loves to create buzz about everything Paducah!

If you know Bruce or me, or read this blog, you know this hasn't been the best year ever for the Thorsby family. My dad passed away Feb. 4. We were all exceptionally crazy about him — especially my mom. They married when she was just 20 and he 22, and until now, she has never faced the thought of living on her own.
My sister Susan and I have been swapping off every two weeks to be with her, just helping around the house and getting things ready for her new chapter in life. My other siblings and nieces and nephews have been great phone supporters, and will be with her a few times over the summer.
Mom has accomplished all sorts of new things in the past three months. She's learned to pump her own gas, she pays all the bills now and, in an move that I never would have anticipated, she bought a MacBook laptop. I've had great fun helping her learn how to use it — you should see her "cut," "copy" and "paste." We have a little lesson just about every evening. It's nice, finally, to be able to teach her a little something after so many years of the lessons she's taught me.
She loves checking email and was absolutely thrilled to receive this fun Mother's Day video from Susan. It takes a little while to open. But you'll see a button where you can do the same for the special moms in your lives, too. (I just sent one to Bruce's mom, and to some other mom pals.)
Happy Mother's Day, Mom. You are, most definitely, our Mother of the Year.
