iLove it
We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah goes on that first date so you don't have to!

January 24, 2012

Chris Holland

He’s cute, creative, and way sweeter than he’ll lead you to believe! Check out this week’s iDate – 38 year old Chris Holland – and see if you don’t agree…

Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? What are you doing now? Where are you headed?

I’m originally from Paducah, having attended Heath and graduated from Lone Oak. I spent some time in college before following my gypsy nature across the country from city to city devouring all of the experiences life could throw at me. I moved back about 5 years ago, but who know’s where I’ll end up! I still have a head full of dreams and a heart full of hope to explore, and the world is my destination!

alt textWe know that you work for Comcast. What sort of mischief do you get into when you’re not working?

Skating, making music, rock climbing, writing.

What sort of mischief will you probably NEVER get into?

Line dancing, hunting, professional wrestling.

Tell us one thing you can do really well?

Play drums.

What’s ONE thing you definitely want a potential date to know about you?

You can’t shock me!

You’re stranded on a desert island. You can have one book, one household implement, and one ever-replenishing food provision. What would you have with you?

The book would have to be blank, ready for me to fill with dreams and hopes. For a household implement I would need a pencil to draw and write with. The one food I could possibly live off of would have to be Pad Thai with chili paste on the side.

alt textLet’s say a beautiful woman invites you into her home. What would you hope to see when you walked through the door? What would you NOT want to see?

I would hope to find books, or at the very least a well-worn Kindle full of ebooks. I wouldn’t want to see a jock strap!

Sometimes, it’s easy to get in a dinner-and-a-movie rut when it comes to dating. If you could have an ideal date with that special someone, what would it entail?

It would entail being somewhere quiet enough to talk, possibly cliffside with a picnic basket looking at a 30-mile horizon, or doing something random together like making pottery or skating in the middle of the night as the cops look on quizzically.

Let’s say your life is being made into a movie. Who plays the starring role and what is the title of the film?

David Mitchell - The Road Less Traveled, and for Good Reason.

Do you have any odd collections, strange hobbies, or guilty pleasures? You know you do!

I still collect records and have a few hundred-year old books in my collection, including an 1895 copy of the Surprising Adventures of Baron Münchhausen. My guilty pleasures are bad alien invasion movies and Survivor.

What are your top three deal breakers when it comes to dating/relationships?

Racism, homophobia and intolerance.

alt textAnd what about the top three deal MAKERS?

Having a philosophical side, intelligence, compassion.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself?

I referee for women’s roller derby, play in a band, write prose/stories/music, and am passionate about Theoretical Physics. I love everything from symphony and plays to burlesque and freakshows, and am as open-minded an individual as you’re likely to meet.

And anything more you’d like to share about who/what you are looking for?

I have moved beyond genres of music and style, what is important to me is having a good heart and an open mind.
