Chris Riley
Eternally self-deprecating, Chris Riley is a smart, cute and funny guy who will tell you that he’s none of these things. I’ve known him for several years and can vouch for the fact you will have a fun and irreverent time if you go out with him!

Here’s what he has to say about himself:
- I’m A Normal Guy! At least I think I am. What are the chances? Normal doesn’t mean boring, just not weird.
I am probably one of the most easy going people you will ever meet. Nothing offends me and that can be both a blessing and a curse. I love to talk about unusual subjects but my mouth tends to get me in trouble when I try to be witty.- I spend my weekdays working a fairly normal schedule and just relaxing in the evenings or going out for the occasional dinner and a drink with some friend or another. Weekends are spent hanging out with my daughter, sailing and having a beer or two when I can. I even occasionally clean up around the house and mow the yard, but I try to keep that kind of stuff to a bare minimum.
- I like to spend my free time out and having fun. Sailing, rollerblading, sipping coffee at Etcetera Coffeehouse or going to Max’s for a few rounds. When the weather is gloomy I just want to sit at home and watch a movie, read a book, or listen to the radio while sipping a drink.
Cleaning house is a necessary but actively avoided evil. I firmly believe that there is not a lot to be gained in the living of life when you are unloading and loading the dishwasher.- I was born and raised in Paducah and have lived almost my entire life here. Having spent a few years living in other nearby cities I can say that Paducah is the best city for miles around and despite all the things there can be to complain about I still love it here.
- I’ve spent the last 15 years at Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis in the Information Technology department. I would probably be described as a computer geek by some people, but that is just my day job. I do really love my job. Every day is a new challenge and I get to do things for people that makes their work lives easier.
- I’m always out to have a good time and I like to be with friends when I do. Nothing makes a good time better like sharing it with people who are also having a good time. A quiet evening at home is a good thing too.
If the weather is warm — and even when it isn’t — I spend my weekends sailing. Racing sailboats is one of those past-times that just gets more fun the more you do it. And what better hobby to have than one that gets you out in the sun, the fresh air, on the water, and has you drinking a boat drink or a beer at the end of the day.- I will occasionally exercise, but any exercise I do is geared toward getting me ready for next sailing season. Except rollerblading; I do that for fun.
- My main partners-in-crime are my kids. Nick and Matt are both nearly grown and out the door and other than hanging out to play video games, wrench in the garage, or fight the man they have their own lives they are leading. This makes Emma my main co-conspirator in all things Riley. She is with me just about everywhere I go and everything I do on the weekends. You’ll find us racing in regattas, relaxing downtown, or sipping on coffee on Sunday mornings. And like I have always said; My kids are all smarter than me, the only thing I have on them is experience.
