We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Kelsie Gray goes on that first date so you don't have to!November 22, 2011
Cory Roof
Paducah’s very own Cory Roof is an all-around nice guy who knows how to rock n’ roll all night and party every day. He’s down for a candlelight dinner, a ride in a Charger, or pretty much anything else, as long as you’re there and there’s beer on the menu.
You’re practically a celebrity, being a part of the Roof Empire and all. What are the advantages of being a Roof? Are there disadvantages. For instance, do people assume you’re an alcoholic or expect you to provide them with free booze?
The advantages are pretty sweet, sometimes. You get discounts, get to know every bartender in town, and get to know more people in the alcohol business all while being a party animal. Really, most people think it’s pretty awesome, if they’re into booze, that is.
When you’re not basking in the glory of being locally famous, how do you entertain yourself?
Whenever I’m not being locally famous, I hang out with my friends and stay up to date with the latest movies and video games, so I can learn how to be even more of a celebrity.

Let’s say you have a date with a lovely lady and she invites you over to her place for dinner. What’s the first thing you would hope to see upon entering her home? What’s the LAST thing you’d want to see?
The first thing I would like to see is a nice welcome from her, and a nicely put together place, too. The last thing? Going home with a broken heart. I hate it when women mistreat me.

What’s one thing you can do really, really well?
Stay out of trouble. I think I’m a good person. I’ve only been pulled over twice, and the cops let me go!
And what’s something you’ll leave to the experts?
I’m just going to go with my health on this one, because the doctors are the only thing we’ve got.
If you could get front row tickets to a concert of ANY musician, living or dead, who would you want to see?
Wow, tough question! I’m really passionate about music itself. It would probably have to be Guns n’ Roses. I’ve never seen them live, but then again, I don’t want to wait till 1 am for Axl to come out on stage. I’ve been to a ton of shows, but that would be the ultimate.
And who would you DEFINITELY not want to see?
It probably would have to be Rebecca Black or Willow Smith. That kind of music is ruining music itself.
It’s Friday night and you have a date. Due to a freak ice storm, all of the bars, restaurants, and movie theaters are closed, but you are determined that the show must go on. What sort of awesome date do you improvise for your special lady?
Maybe we can have dinner by candle light. If we have electricity we can watch a movie on Netflix. If we don’t, we could probably play board games or just try to find a way to entertain ourselves.
What’s the one thing you’ve always wanted for Christmas but have never received?
I’m a really big car freak, so a Ferrari would be nice, or maybe a 1969 Dodge Charger. Yes, like the one in “The Fast and the Furious.”
If you had to reduce your life’s philosophy to a bumper sticker slogan, what would it be?
“Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.”
