Daniel Case, 35, spends his days as a control and instrumentation expert with Electric Energy Incorporated in Joppa, Ill. At night, he lights up the dance floor with the foxtrot, ballroom, rumba, swing — you name it, he's got the electrifying smooth moves the ladies love!

Daniel Case, you are cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it! You grew up around here?
I'm from Carlisle County, and I've lived in Paducah for about eight years.

And what do you do for work?
I work in control and instrumentation at Electric Energy Incorporated in Joppa, Ill. I've always been interested in electricity. When I was a kid, I was always taking things apart.

Did you put them back together?
No, not so much. But I ended up going through the union apprenticeship here in town. That was my formal training.

And I hear you just graduated from college.
Yes, it took about 15 years! But I finally finished up at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield. I earned a degree in business management.

Congratulations! Daniel, you have a very unusual MySpace address: myspace.com/wandicimomagnifico. What's up with that?
Actually, the name comes from a cartoon, Fairly Odd Parents, which I sometimes watch with my boys. The character is only in some episodes, but he always makes me laugh. I changed the spelling of his name to how I would have spelled it — and there you have my address!

Daniel, you are so cute! And we're crossing paths now, all the time. I see you out everywhere!
I am starting to get out more. But I'm basically a fun-loving father of boys. Sam is 10 and Eli is nine. They live with me part-time and their mom part-time. They're good kids. They're boys, but they're good ones. I enjoy spending time with them and even normally enjoy the challenges they bring.

Like what?
They're just like any other kids. They're real honest. You never know what they'll say. They look at things differently than adults.

Do they remind you of you?
Yes, definitely, but in different ways. Eli has my attitude and mannerisms, and he looks like me. Sam has my personality traits.

Do they take things apart, too?
No, they usually just break things! They're great, though. I try to spend as much time with them that I can.

And you love animals?
Yes. I grew up on a farm and had all kinds of pets. We currently have Belle, a King Charles Cavalier, and Binge, a bearded dragon.

Now how long have you been divorced?
Four years.

Are you friendly with your ex-wife?
Yes. It was tough at first, obviously, with all the emotions. She's remarried, which is good. Because of the boys, we are in contact often, and we get along fairly well now.

That's good that you can be friendly. Not everyone can! And I know you're an avid reader.
I love a good book that grips my interest so much that I can't stand to put it down 'til the early hours of the morning. I try to read when I get a break. I love Robert Ludlum and Stephen King. Recently, I've tried to seek out new authors and different genres of writing. Any suggestions?

Rock on! So tell us about your dancing! That is so cool!
Ashley Thurman is a friend of mine, and he teaches dance lessons. I learned from him. It's a lot of fun — I really enjoy it.

What kind of dances can you do?
I can do East Coast and West Coast swing, rumba, foxtrot, ballroom, cha-cha — there's several that I know.

Where do you get to dance?
One of the best places is at Madison Hall. Johnette and Rod Worak host dances there on Friday nights, so I usually go to those.

Daniel, you must cause a stir among all the ladies!
Well, everybody dances with everybody. And there aren't very many single women at those dances.

There will be now! I bet you have quite the love life!
What love life? I'm loving life. But I haven't dated anyone in quite a while now. I can't tell you the last person I dated.

Cute fella like you? That ain't right!
It's just not been a priority. I was finishing up my schooling, and I just haven't met anyone interesting lately.

Daniel! There are interesting women in Paducah, a-plenty! What kind of gal are you looking for?
Someone who's intelligent and interesting. I like to travel and see and do new things. So someone who likes to do that. I'm making more of an effort to meet people now. I'd become a hermit, basically over last couple of years. I need to get out.

Well you're doing it! You were at Cynthia's last weekend, then Toucan's and then at Tribeca! Then Jeremiah's! That's fantastic!
I'm glad to see the changes going on Downtown. I love live music, and Paducah is developing a better scene than it has had in the past several years. I'm doing some other things, too. I'm now ushering at Market House Theatre. I enjoy the theater, and I ushered for My Way a few weeks ago.

Yes, I met Fowler at the after party.

You should try out for something!
They were encouraging me to do that. It's the time commitment, though. My schedule is not the best. I would consider it, but I'd have to have the time.
