iLove it
We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Mary Thorsby goes on that first date so you don't have to!

May 26, 2009

Eddie Herrador & Sandi May

alt textFrom San Francisco to New York, this past weekend fans around the world flocked to LowerTown’s Art & Music Festival! Meet Eddie Herrador, 39, and Sandi May, 38, BFFs of Mary and Nikki!

Eddie Herrador and Sandi May, you cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it!
Eddie:
Guilty!

And you’re back in Paducah for another LowerTown Art & Music Festival. Was this past weekend a blast or what?
Sandi:
It was a total blast. I always love coming to this festival. It’s my fourth time! Walking around, knowing everyone — I know more people here than I know at home, where I’ve lived for 12 years.

alt textWhere’s home?
Sandi:
Horseheads, NY. Paducah is way more fun.

And Pumpkin, this your third festival.
Eddie:
Yes, and I love it! I love everything about Paducah! The niceness that everybody knows each other. The arts, the music, the food, the drinks, the shopping, the parties. Paducah just feels right. It’s cozy and quiet, but it knows how to have a great time!

Now you’re from San Francisco, where you and I met 10 years ago and have been BFFs ever since!
Eddie
: Yes, and I love San Francisco. But I love the idea of living in smaller town. People are really all the same. San Francisco has more people. If Paducah had more people, it would be like San Francisco.

alt textIt’s the San Francisco of the South! Pumpkin, you should move here!
Eddie:
It’s artsy, fabulous and fun. Kitten, I just might do that.

Sandi, your sister is the lovely and beautiful iList Paducah designer, Nikki May. She, too, was iDate of the Week earlier this year!
Sandi:
Nikki is my really cool sister. She’s smart, funny and talented — she’s a triple threat!

Tell us about your work in Horseheads, NY.
Sandi:
I’m a physical therapist. I have a business called Rehab at Home. I torture old people for their benefit in the convenience of their own home.

alt textSandi! I’m sure there’s no torture. I mean, you don’t get all Guantánamo on them, do you?
Sandi:
It probably feels like torture sometimes! I see about 25-30 patients a week, and I have four employees. It’s a good business. I like helping people.

And Pumpkin, you bartend at one of the hottest spots in San Francisco.
Eddie:
Yes, I work at The Cinch, and I also do personal assistant work, event planning, floral design and interior design. Basically, I’m a whore. I do anything that pays.

alt textYou are not a whore, Eddie Herrador!
Eddie:
Well not in a naughty way! Just for work!

Eddie, your flowers are always so gorgeous. What’s the secret to a great floral arrangement?
Eddie:
Beautiful vases that complement the space. You can’t just shove a dozen roses or a bunch of daisies into any container. You need the right vase and you need to have enough flowers. Just simplify it. Have just peonies or hydrangeas by themselves — don’t put in all that extra stuff. Have just one kind of beautiful flower and an abundance of it.

alt textWell, your flowers are amazing, Eddie. You are so incredibly talented.
Eddie:
Thank you, Kitten.

So let’s get to it. Eddie and Sandi, you’re both single and would welcome some lovin’ from Paducah, Ky., yes?
Eddie:
I’d welcome some lovin’ from ANYWHERE!

Sandi: I’m almost single. I’m legally separated and will be divorced sometime this year. But yes, lovin’ is definitely welcomed! Especially if it’s from someone like your cute husband, DJ Urban Kobbb!

{replace}I know! Isn’t he darling? And you have some kiddos.
Sandi:
I have two boys (left). Noah is 8 and Mason is 5. They’re awesome. They do karate and gymnastics, and Noah races BMX bikes.

Ouch, does that make you nervous to watch?
Sandi:
Yes. But so far, he’s not too much of a daredevil.

I hear you were quite the daredevil growing up!
Sandi:
I did gymnastics and I was a coach for 12 years. I even taught gymnastics at Cornell University.

alt textCan you still do a split?
Sandi:
Does that answer your question?

Oh, girlfriend! Impressive! OK, so what are you both looking for in a man?
Sandi:
No adulterers.

Eddie: Someone sweet and nice who likes to go out. Attractive is nice. Funny. Someone who likes to go dancing.

You LOVE to dance!
Eddie:
I do, and I love to go out for cocktails and have dinner with my friends. I like to go to movies. I like sushi. I like running.

You did the San Francisco half marathon last summer.
Eddie:
We both did, and we’re doing it again this summer.

Oh Lord. I gotta start training again. Eddie, I love how you instantly make friends wherever you go.
Eddie:
I’m blessed in my life. I’m very grateful for everything — my friends, my family.

Same time next year?
Sandi:
Absolutely!

Eddie: I wouldn’t miss it, Kitten!
