We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah goes on that first date so you don't have to! Written by Michael Gehrke.November 7, 2010
Emily Dunseath
This week’s iDate is (to borrow from Mary) the super-cute, awesomely fun Emily Dunseath.
Emily is a recent transplant to Paducah, and hails from a small town just outside Kansas City, MO. She’s been a hair-stylist for the past four years, and is now at Makin’ Waves Salon on South Friendship Road just off Lone Oak. Hint: go see her for a smokin’ coiffure.
While Emily does have family here, she’s still getting settled in regarding the friendship department, and is definitely looking for fun, respectful people to hang out with, explore the awesomeness that is Paducah, and generally have fun!
I asked Emily, “What makes you awesome, and makes all of us want to date you?” After a giggle, she said, “I’m not too ‘out there.’ I don’t do a lot of crazy stuff.” While she added that she enjoys reading and going for walks, the more we talked, the more it became obvious that she’s going to be the ideal girlfriend for some lucky guy. She likes watching college football with people who aren’t afraid of questions; she’s into comedies and action movies; she’s even a fan of “Family Guy.” How cool is that? And check this out: she loves to play catch.
Did I mention that Emily put herself through Cosmetology school? She’s pretty proud to have done so, and she certainly should be.
She likes trying new things, and wants to try bungee jumping and sky-diving. She loves Jasmine and Tokyo Sushi. And she’s really looking forward to trying Martin Fierro.
As for what’s she’s looking for in a guy, it’s all about respect. Like most of us, Emily likes guys with a great sense of humor, who like to try new things, and who like to have fun. So take her dancing—just about any music will do—and get to know the latest gem of Paducah.
Her summary is probably best: “I’m looking for someone to hang out with, to have fun with. I’m not a real picky person. I mean, I’ve had two pretty long relationships, with two completely different kinds of guys, and I like to do all kinds of stuff. I like humor, someone that’s funny, someone that’s not overbearing. Respect has been lacking in relationships in the past, and it’s just not something I’m willing to do without. I feel you should always be respectful of other people, their families, and their beliefs.”
She’s cute; she’s fun; she’s funny and smart. Your turn now, guys.
