iLove it
We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah goes on that first date so you don't have to!

January 31, 2012

Chad Chancellor

Ladies, feast your eyes on this adorable 30 year old economic development professional. If you can watch football with him and make him laugh, you’re in! Learn how he likes his scotch and much more here…

Tell us about yourself. Where are you from? What are you doing now? Where are you headed?

I am from Waynesboro, Mississippi, and I moved to Paducah in 2010 to run the Paducah Economic Development Council.

I have a passion for growing the economy and jobs in the south as a whole, and so much of that depends on education and workforce training. If I am not in Paducah, I will be somewhere else working to pursue my passion of giving people in the south the opportunity to better themselves and their families.

alt textWhat sort of mischief do you get into when you’re not working?

I sure do like my scotch, Glenlivet, 2 rocks!

What sort of mischief will you probably NEVER get into?

I’ve never smoked one thing in my life and likely never will

What’s one thing you can do really well?

Negotiate.

What’s ONE thing you definitely want a potential date to know about you?

I hate to talk about work after hours!

You’re stranded on a desert island. You can have one book, one household implement, and one ever-replenishing food provision. What would you have with you?

Book: The Idiot’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing
Household implement: Coffee pot, assuming I had access to coffee!
Food: French fries - I can’t express how much I love them!

Let’s say a beautiful woman invites you into her home. What would you hope to see when you walked through the door? What would you NOT want to see?

I would hope to see something comfortable; I don’t like stuffy places where you don’t feel comfortable to sit down and kick your shoes off. I would NOT want to see a cat as I am deathly allergic!

Sometimes, it’s easy to get in a dinner-and-a-movie rut when it comes to dating. If you could have an ideal date with that special someone, what would it entail?

Chad (right) with two college buddies at the Superbowl in Miami. His beloved Saints won!

We would go to New Orleans and watch my beloved Saints play football, then have dinner at Meaux Bar (best crab cakes and best pork chop I have ever had!), and finish it with singing our hearts out at Pat O’Brien’s Piano Bar and then a little dancing to the One Night Stand band at the Swinging Door!

Do you have any odd collections, strange hobbies, or guilty pleasures? You know you do!

Does the fact I could literally sit and watch football for 48 hours straight count?

What are your top three deal breakers when it comes to dating/relationships?

1. Can’t handle all my travel and time away
2. Closed minded about the world
3. No sense of humor

And what about the top three deal MAKERS?

1. Chemistry
2. The ability to adapt to everything from dinner with the governor to ringing a cowbell with me in Starkville, Mississippi!
3. Hilarious

Anything else you’d like to tell us about yourself?

I love to spend time at home. I travel so much and stay in so many hotels making me really appreciate the time I get to spend within the 4 walls of my house!

And anything more you’d like to share about who/what you are looking for?

I’m looking for a woman who I can laugh with and forget everything else when I’m with her!

Shameless plug time: Want us to spread the word about what you do or who you work for?

We need everyone in our area to be positive about Paducah. People don’t often realize, we recruit 100 companies a year, of those 10-20 will actually come visit us, of those 4 or 5 will seriously consider us. Often, prospects will go to our local restaurants or stop people in the mall and ask them what they think of Paducah, so as my mom taught me, if you can’t say anything nice dont say anything at all!  And all the little things you do to make this a better community, like picking up litter or contributing to the community scholarship fund, truly helps us win!
