Lisa Guill

Lisa Guill, 45, is hot, gorgeous, sexy, energetic and can rock an Energy Fitness spin class like nobody's business. This recently divorced mom of two isn't letting any grass grow under her stationary bike. She's ready to date again. But only men who are men!

Lisa Guill, you are cute, cute, cute, no doubt about you. You're HOT! What's going on here?
What do you mean?

I can just tell. Something's…
You mean my divorce?

Yes! I knew it was something big! Recent?
Yes, it was finalized in May.

And you…
I feel great.

You look great. Was it just an awful marriage?
No, not at all. It was more me, honestly. I just wasn't where I wanted to be. He's a good man and a good father. We'd just become more of a partnership — more friends than anything else.

Well, you're beyond gorgeous.
Thank you. It was a hard thing to do — I have two young children. But I knew in my heart I had to do it.

What do you do for work?
I work at Lamar Advertising as the sales manager. I've been there 21 years — I was a baby when I started.

Hah! You had to have been! So you all sell outdoor billboards?
Yes, big billboards, smaller posters and we have a digital board near Energy Fitness, one in Cape and one in Marion. We have more than 100 boards in Paducah and more than 800 overall in Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri and Western Kentucky.

And you're a believer in outdoor advertising? It works?
It absolutely works. It's 24/7 advertising and you can do it in a target area you want to reach, whether it's by people who live near it or by people who drive by it. You can't throw it away or turn it off. It's very effective advertising.

How can you tell?
Well, by people who mention seeing the boards — and even by people who complain. Several years ago, we had a billboard for a tanning product. It was a very classy and tasteful photo of a man and two women. We got a lot of complaints about that.

Why?
People thought we were promoting ménage a trois.

Whaaaaat? Were they nekked?
No, not at all. But we got several calls anyway and had to take it down. We were on the news.

Oh my. Well, there you go.
There you go. We don't guarantee that we'll increase your business, but we'll definitely create and raise awareness for your business. Just keep your message simple.

Like ménage a trois?
No, no. Just use the boards to promote your name, location, or special event. No ménage a trois!

Hah! Speaking of which, how are you adjusting to single life?
I love it! I'm blessed with really good friends who've been inviting me to gatherings and are my family — and I've learned a lot about myself and grown so much over the past several months. I'm happy. I can do what I want. If I want a girl's night out, I get a babysitter and go.

Excellent! Tell us about your kids.
My son Nicholas is 12. He's my rock. He's been great about this whole thing. And my daughter Jordan is 8. She's doing great, but she misses her daddy. She's special needs. You'd never know — she's mainstreamed. But I've been working with her since she was 9 months old. You talk about a humbling experience.

What do you mean?
Well, I remember seeing parents out in public struggling with their kid, and my first child was just so good. But with Jordan, now I'm the one at Wal-mart picking my child up off the floor.

But it's opened up so many avenues — I've met so many parents who deal with similar issues and you see other people who are loving and kind and giving and accept and love your child. You don't focus on those other people who don't get it. It teaches you not to be judgmental.

So things are good?
Things are good. We have a cat now, and we can wear shoes in the house. And if something spills, it's no big deal. We have a happy little family.

Are you ready to date again?
Absolutely! I'm a woman in my mid-40s. Yes, I'm ready!

What kind of man are you looking for?
I like men who have it going on. I like men who are successful. I like a man who can be a man — who can step up to the plate and when something needs to be done, they get it done. They don't ho-hum about it — they just do it.

Amen, sister!
When I meet a very successful man, it's a turn on. It's not just about the money — it's that they step up to the plate and take charge. I take charge, I get things done, I know what initiative is — I've been working since I was 14. I want that in a man.

And you should have it! Look at you! What do you do to keep that amazing bod?
The gym is my thing. I've worked out since my early 20s. I definitely need the physical benefits, but for me, it's mental, too. It's a mental release. I'm very much a cardio person.

Where do you work out?
At Energy Fitness, of course!

Of course! Love Energy!
I love the spin and yoga classes there.

Those will kick your…
Yes, totally. I love to work up a big sweat. It's an addiction.

Well, it definitely suits you! And you like to cook?
I love to bake. I love to make cookies and fudge for clients. My son has picked it up, too, so we have fun doing that together.

Meet the Ya-Yas: Robyn Shapiro, Becky Bradford, Lisa Guill, Karen Anderson, Mickie Lawrence, Gail Butler, Tina Walker and Diane Shrewsberry!
And what's this about the Ya-Yas? You're a Ya-Ya?
Yes, there are eight of us, from our early 40s to almost 60. Some of us go way back with each other, but as a group we got together about the time that the movie, Devine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood came out. We're all from here originally, and we sit and talk and drink. Eight wonderful, beautiful women. I'm like, "Oh my gosh, I want to look like you." Everyone is just so beautiful and smart. Street smart.

Well, if anyone is beautiful and street smart, it's you, Lisa Guill. You got the Ya-Ya going on!
