iLove it
We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Mary Thorsby goes on that first date so you don't have to!

March 22, 2010

Mandee Coursey

After losing her husband four years ago, mom-of-two Mandee Coursey is learning to laugh and live loudly again. And she’s looking extra gorgeous after her Energy Fitness three-month makeover!

Mandee Coursey, you are cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it! Here we go:

  1. I have a weakness for thin crust pineapple and pepperoni pizza.

  2. I am a widowed mother and those words make me feel SO old, but I often ask myself if I will ever grow up. Most days you will find me running around the house playing with my kids or blogging at Learning To Live Without Him.

  3. I love to laugh uncontrollably. Laughing is great for my soul.

  4. I am originally from southeast Missouri but migrated to Kentucky to attend Murray State University. I graduated in 2001. During college I grew to love Kentucky and decided this was the place I wanted to call home.

  5. alt textI worked at Ingram Barge Company for seven years in Human Resources. I recently resigned from my job to take advantage of the greatest opportunity in the world of being a SAHM (stay at home mom) to my two beautiful children, Stetson and Evie.

  6. I recently completed a three-month makeover with Energy Fitness, with my last month doing a BootCamp with WPSD’s Todd Faulkner. This makeover opportunity was a huge boost to my confidence after losing my husband to a stroke four years ago. I was able to drop 30 pounds and regain my strength in becoming social again. I wish I could do it all over again because I loved every minute of it!

  7. Just a heads up, I AM A HUGE WILDCAT FAN and Chelsea Handler FAN!

  8. I love to fly fish. I grew up fishing with my dad and two older brothers.

  9. Marilyn Monroe wrote two quotes that I live by. The first one being: “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

  10. Second one being: “I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best.”

  11. I get weak in the knees for a man in a suit.

  12. I believe the one place you should always look your best is an airport. You never know who you will meet in an airport.

  13. I am addicted to WATER. I love being on a boat, in a pool or even in a bath!

  14. I recently watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s and An Affair to Remember for the first time and am addicted to older movies now.

  15. My mom is one of my best friends.

  16. My dream job would be to work for a non-profit organization. I am a huge advocate for the American Heart Association!

  17. I can tell you the best salad at almost every restaurant in Paducah.

  18. I love to sing and I love photography but I will NEVER call myself a professional in either hobby.

  19. I love to play poker!

  20. I am addicted to Web window shopping and believe a woman should own a great pair of black heels and a great handbag.

What I’m looking for:
I am looking for someone to laugh uncontrollably with. To know that no matter how bad your day gets, hearing from them will make it better. Someone who is confident, adventurous and knows how to take care of a woman. That can fit into any situation. Casual on the beach, professional in a meeting and a socialite at dinner. Dress is important…it is a first impression. And most of all…willing to step up the plate and be a father to my kids who lost theirs at an early age. Nothing in the beginning but if long term, someone willing to be a man, not a hero for the moment.

alt textI am ready for a relationship again but I don’t want to be with someone just to be with someone. I want to truly fall in love. I want someone who enjoys family time. Family is extremely important and comes first in my life. I have experienced in the past that I can get pulled into the adventurous life of just “us” but in reality, my life includes children. A couple’s night or a getaway is great, but I have more family game nights than a couple’s getaway.

I am extremely attracted to someone who is passionate about their job. A hard worker that is dedicated to providing for his family. I am a bit old fashioned. You bring home the bacon and I will cook it. I currently stay at home with my children. However, I am not afraid to work and work hard.

I am not a perfect person. I have made mistakes in my life and I know that I will make more in the future. One thing I am is honest about my mistakes and faithful to whomever I am in a relationship with. I have been a wife and I am a mother. When I was granted the opportunity to be a wife, I was a great one. I pray one day God will grant me this opportunity again but only with a man who truly loves me as I will him. I was thrown into this crazy world unexpectedly and I am learning to live again. So…
