We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Kelsie Gray goes on that first date so you don't have to!July 17, 2011
Phil Rowland
He’s a self-proclaimed gourmet who would like to spend a day as a bouquet of flowers, and he once expertly disseminated T.S. Eliot’s “The Hollow Men” for my Writing 101 class. Phil Rowland is the whole package, ladies, and he’s up for grabs as this week’s charmingly red-headed iDate.

So tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? What are you doing right now? Where are you headed?
I’m from the little old Podunk place we like to call Paducah, and I attend West Kentucky Community and Technical College. My favorite thing to do is cook food, so I’m heading towards a career as a chef.
What’s the first thing you notice about a girl? What’s the last thing?
The first thing I notice about a girl is her smile and how she approaches the conversation I start with her. The last thing I’ll notice about her is whether or not it’d be worth the one night stand.
(At least he’s honest, girls!)
If you could swap places with any OBJECT for a day, what object would you swap with and why?
A bouquet of flowers is what every person should want to swap places with for a day because everyone needs to see a smile on someone’s face. I definitely wouldn’t want to trade with a doorknob, because everyone would want their turn.
(And clever!)
We all know girls like a guy with a little culture and breeding. What’s the most cultured thing you’ve ever done?
I like to spend my free time cooking food for my mom to put a smile on her face, and want to thank her for all my skills. In order to become more cultured, I want to travel the globe and continue to cook German food, or maybe even open my own restaurant.
And what’s the least cultured thing you’ve ever done?
Ehh, this is embarrassing, but I once threw up ON a cop.
What’s your idea of the perfect date that falls outside the range of "dinner and a movie"?
A nice walk downtown to watch the sunset together. I’m pretty good at giving massages so somewhere a massage would be incorporated. I think a candlelit dinner prepared by YOURS TRULY is the BEST way to impress a lady on a date.
Well let’s hear it then. What would YOURS TRULY create as a blow-her-mind, first date meal?
Appetizer: a sort of trout or fishy crepe topped with caviar.
Main course: small petite fillet steak, haricot verts with lime glaze, small red roasted potatoes with a butter garlic sauce and fresh asparagus (if she likes asparagus) roasted in butter on the grill.
Dessert: hand-dipped chocolate strawberries and cheesecake.
When you’re not being an awesome host at Flamingo Row, cooking for your mom (awwww), or analyzing T.S. Elliot for your English class, what do you do with yourself?
In my spare time, aside from cooking, I sit around listening to all genres of music EXCEPT country. I mainly like classic rock, death metal and rap. I own way too many video games, and hanging out with my friends is always a priority.
Ladies love a man who shows affection for cuddly animals. Do you have any pets? If you could keep ANY animal as a pet, what would it be?
I actually don’t own an animal as of right now, but if I were to be able to keep ONE animal as a pet it would definitely HAVE to be a Tasmanian Devil.
How do you feel about Rebecca Black’s decision to remove her song "Friday" (a golden calf of the pop music world), from YouTube? Has it changed you as a person?
Seeing Rebecca remove herself from YouTube hurt us all, even though most had Bieber fever and not the "Black Plague.” Overall, I’m sad Rebecca’s gone because she changed my way of thinking about which seat I want to take.
In 10 words (no more, no less), tell the studio audience why you’re an awesome iDate:
Follow what your heart says, because it points to me.
