iLove it
We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Mary Thorsby goes on that first date so you don't have to!

Piyush Shukla

He’s caught seven garters at weddings (four in a row!), he plays Wipeout on the drums and he claims to have forced Salt-n-Pepa to change the name of their hit song because it infringed on his own. Meet Piyush Shukla, one of our funniest iDates to ame of one of their songs because it infringed on his own! And check out his video, brought to us by Innovations Branding House!

Piyush Shukla, you are cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it! Here we go!

  1. Pick a genre of music, any genre, and I’m sure there is something in it I would like. I played the trombone all through middle school, high school and college. I dabble in the piano and harmonica and can play Hot Cross Buns on the recorder and Wipeout on the drums.

  2. alt textNeed about four beers to achieve optimum bar games, namely pool, darts, Cornhole and shuffleboard.

  3. Was once able to dunk a volleyball (on a 10’ rim, mind you); could do tricks (360s, alley-oops, etc.) with a tennis ball; could never get those extra couple of inches to dunk a basketball (I’m 6’ tall BTW).

  4. Can speak English well and also conversational Spanish (can’t roll my rs, though) and Hindi; can do the sign language alphabet (and know apple and out) as well as the NATO alphabet and can spell S.O.S in Morse Code.

  5. Had my picture taken with Mary Lou Retton (she has huge calves).

  6. Am about a 35 handicap golf player and a scratch Frisbee golf player; also enjoy volleyball, basketball, pretty much any sport and I’ll watch pretty much any sport and even things that aren’t considered sport.

  7. Am proficient in the sprinkler, the traffic cop, the microwave, the worm, the electric slide, Kid-n-Play moves and break dancing and I also took ballroom dance (cha cha, salsa and swing) classes in undergrad and graduate school.

  8. Have caught seven garters at weddings (four in a row once).

  9. Have visited (and not just airports) every state except for Kansas, North Dakota and Alaska.

  10. While I was born in India and spent five years in the UK, I grew up in Delaware (home of the Fighting Blue Hens) and am usually the first person anyone has met who claims to be from there; have suffered quite a bit as I follow all the Philadelphia sports teams.

  11. Went to graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em Horns) where I earned my Ph.D. in chemistry and had the best margaritas Ev-Er; was a post-doc at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico (also spent time in Utah and South Carolina); listen to the music, dance, socialize and meet new people.

  12. Work for Honeywell in Metropolis but the best part of the job has been going to the local schools and doing chemistry demos, AKA “blowing stuff up” for the kids.

  13. Am on Be the Match Registry for bone marrow donation and have been called as a possible match; if you haven’t visited this site, please do!!

  14. Love the outdoors (camping, hiking, mountain biking, skiing — guess I need to preface that with snow around these parts and while I haven’t tried water skiing, would love to! — the water) but am just as comfortable having some beers at a bar or watching a movie or TV at home.

  15. Enjoy cooking, though as a chemist, I experiment a lot and more often than not, it doesn’t work, but I keep on trying.

  16. Parents never let me have a pet until fish in college (and I’ll get a dog as soon as I get a yard), but I’ve dog-sat, cat-sat, hamster- and gerbil-sat, snake-sat, fish-sat, turtle-sat and ferret-sat.  Would love to marmoset monkey-sit.

  17. alt textWent backpacking through Europe after college (went to Iceland last year and Italy this year) and have been to India a few times; love to travel, it’s a big world and I’d like to see and experience (especially the food) as much of it as possible.

  18. Push It by Salt-n-Pepa was originally Piyush It, but I made them change it.

  19. Can type without looking at the keyboard.

  20. I used to get ready watching Saved by the Bell on TBS in the morning, but now I try to do a crossword puzzle.

  21. Will try anything once…or twice….or three times….

  22. And I included my baby picture because that’s probably the cutest picture there is of me and it’s been downhill since then.
