We know you single folks are busy. iList Paducah's Kelsie Gray goes on that first date so you don't have to!October 24, 2011
Sarah Forker
Someone with the taste and style to put together a shop as wondrous as Twisted Willow is someone we definitely wanted to know more about! Kelsie Gray, one of our favorite guest writers, did such a great job interviewing Sarah Forker for the article we ran last month on theTwisted Willow that we sent her out to interview Sarah again for iDate of the Week!

We begin with a few fill in the blank questions:
If could sing, I would do it in other places besides my car and the shower!
Give me a day off, and I’ll definitely waste the whole thing.
When I was a kid, I thought everything that was pink was mine.
I firmly believe that we should savor every moment.
If I had to wear a warning label at all times, the label would say: “Caution: completely indecisive”.
Listening to Vampire Weekend makes me play the air drums!
My live-by philosophy is “Live a life of no regrets or missed opportunities”.
The last time I went scuba diving was about a month ago.
Today was extraordinary because I bought new shoes (Tom’s of course “One for One”)!
A good kiss is always accompanied by a warm embrace.

If you could blame/praise one childhood book for making you who you are today, what book would it be and why?
Aesop’s fables. As a child I hated to read! Well actually I hated being told what to do at all…come to think of it, I still do. But at bed time, nothing put me out quite like a bed time story, and what better thing to lull off to than something with an important moral lesson?
Let’s say it’s perfectly feasible to hire a band, living or dead, to follow you around and provide an ongoing soundtrack for your day to day life. Who would you hire and why?
My tastes change constantly, but today I would have to say that my band would have to be Modest Mouse. Great driving bass lines and lyrics that you’ve never heard before! Plus, unlike other bands their songs don’t all sound exactly the same. Their style is unique and not for everyone, but I’m a big fan.
If you could swap places with any OBJECT for a day, what object would you swap with and why?
This is sort of like being a fly on the wall. What would I like to be motionless and view all day? My first reaction was to say that i would like to be some great, giant man-made monument or priceless piece of art, but after a bit of contemplation, I think I would simply like to be a stone on an uninhabited beach. Soaking up the warm sun while the ocean waves wash over me…how bad could that be?
Let’s say a handsome man invites you into his home. What would you hope to see when you walked through the door? What would you NOT want to see?
I would love to see a big friendly dog (hopefully not too dumb). In my current situation I can’t have a pet, but if I could, I would adopt a stray! I would NOT like to see fourteen cats. That’s just creepy!
You love to cook, yes? What’s the one dish, hands-down, that you make better than anyone else?
PIZZA! Handmade crust of course, and loaded with fresh veggies, sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella… the works!
Sometimes, it’s easy to get in a dinner-and-a-movie rut when it comes to dating. If you could have an ideal date with that special someone, what would it entail?
So wait, what? Dinner and a movie is out of the question? I’m kind of a dork, but that’s a great evening to me! Well, if that isn’t an option, then my ideal date would be enjoying a leisurely sunset picnic, followed by a refreshing night dive by flashlight!
Tell me something about yourself that you’re afraid might not otherwise be revealed in the course of this interview.
So if you haven’t gotten it by now, I love to scuba dive! Besides that, I’m 22 (23 in less than a month, surprise parties and presents welcome). I own a store downtown, work at a movie theater, and take online classes full time. I’m a caffeine addict, but I try to stick to natural sources; coffee, tea, and such.
What sort of mischief do you get into when you’re not running The Twisted Willow?
When I’m not at the store, I’m at the movie theater, when I’m not at the movie theater, I’m driving, and when I’m not any of those places I’m sleeping! When I do have free time I’m usually just hanging out with friends or visiting with my family. I wish my life was more dangerous and alluring, but it’s not!
What sort of mischief will you probably NEVER get into?
It isn’t likely that I’ll ever be seen on stage belting out some karaoke (not without a few too many drinks and some back up singers/dancers).
Let’s say your life is being made into a movie. Who takes the role of Sarah Forker, and what is the title of the film?
Drew Barrymore would star as me, and the title would be something along the lines of “My Dang Life.”
