Shelia Darden

She moved here seven months ago and hit Broadway by storm! Meet Shelia Darden, one of the most beautiful, friendliest faces you’ll find sipping wine Downtown!

Shelia Darden, you are cute, cute, cute, no doubt about it! Here we go:

1. I moved to Paducah from Wilmington, NC, in October to work on a short-term USEC contract. I just love it here! I’ve met the friendliest, most real people right here in Paducah. I could absolutely live here permanently.
   
   
2. I love Downtown and Broadway. I live on Broadway, so you’ll often find me Cynthia’s, Martin Fierro’s or di Fratelli’s. Those are my favorites.
   
   
3. My motto is: I live to love and laugh a lot. That’s from a Kenny Chesney song.
   
   
4. I’m an out of the box type person. I like to think that I’m approachable, and I like meeting new people.
   
   
5. Soon after I got here, I met some really great gals, including my good friend Tammy Potter, at BBQ on the River. I just approached them and said, “I’m new in town. I’m looking for girlfriends and I like red wine.” That’s how I made friends!
   
   
6. I love cute clothes and cute shoes! My favorite place for shopping is Personal Touch in Wilmington.
   
   
7. I’m a girly girl, but in my past life I shoveled mud and built up a well drilling business.
   
   
8. I love to be on the beach and being in the sun.
   
   
9. I run two or three miles several times a week. I just ran the Feat on the Street race at Noble Park — the Greenway Trail is gorgeous and a great place to run!
   
   
10. For me, running is a release. It’s a great way to find serenity and spend a little time by yourself.
    
    
11. I think it’s good to work at staying young, fit and looking great — if you do that, it becomes an asset for you. I like myself enough to put forth that effort. It makes me feel good about me.
    
    
12. I love football. The Carolina Panthers in particular. And I love college football and basketball. Go Tarheels!
    
    
13. Everyone says I pronounce my “o"s differently.
    
    
14. And just because my name’s Shelia, that doesn’t mean I’m from Australia, Bruce Brockenborough and Joshua Comley! No, I have never boxed a kangaroo.
    
    
15. OK, fine — Greg Norman or Crocodile Dundee? I’ve been a Greg Norman fan for years.
    
    
16. I’m looking for someone who’s a mix of GQ and good ol’ country boy.
    
    
17. A sense of humor is important to me, along with a strong attraction and a sense of fun.
    
    
18. I’m a straightforward, sincere person. I don’t lead people on. If something isn’t going anywhere, I’ll let that person know. Life it too short for game playing.
    
    
19. I’m a world champion Texas Hold’em player. Well, actually, I placed 13th out of 99 in a tournament in Wilmington. I’m always up for a game!
    
    
20. I am truly blessed. God has been good to me in many ways. I never take it for granted.
