3rd Annual Collaborative Women’s Conference: Still Changing

Women of all faiths and backgrounds will come together for the 3rd Annual Collaborative Women’s Conference (CWC), set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2. The theme: Say It! Slay It! — because we all have a voice!
More than 125 women have joined this faith-based/community-based organization since the gorgeously beautiful Dr. Bernice Belt, associate minister at Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church, put out the call last year in hopes of forming the group. Women of all races, abilities and ethnic groups and representing all denominational and socio-economic lines eagerly joined in. And today, the CWC is a helpful extension of local churches, and a supporter of all churches, pastors and their wives, women’s ministries, women ministers and wives of associate ministers and organizations designed to assist women and their families.
The group has a great Web site which, along with sharing conference details, includes an impressive leadership list with contact information on how to get involved.
Tickets for the October conference are on sale now. The event is $10 for adults and free to boys and girls on Friday night and to girls on Saturday. Just send an email with your name, age, a parent’s name and your badge will be ready at the conference.
“Women are hungry for the camaraderie through ministry outside their normal environment,” Bernice says. “As Christian women, we know there’s more. We enjoy being around each other. We are excited about what the ministry is designed to accomplish.”
