Desserts First: Girl Scout Cookies, All Grown Up
Jonesing for Thin Mints? You’re in luck. It’s Girl Scout cookie time, and local chefs are transforming Tagalongs, Trefoils and Do-Si-Dos into even more amazing desserts concoctions.
Sample them all at the Saturday, Jan. 30 Desserts First fundraiser at the Carson Center, 6-8:30 p.m.
Along with tasting and voting for your favorite desserts, you’ll enjoy an evening with friends, music, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. The proceeds benefit the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, which serves nearly 2,500 girls through our local Bear Creek Service Center.
“Desserts First has been going on across the U.S. for about five years now, so we’re excited to bring it to Paducah," says the lovely Aretta Terry, the Girl Scouts’ Western Kentucky Fund Development manager. "Our Girl Scouts program is dedicated to evolving young women into community leaders and world leaders. Girls of all ages earn badges in global awareness, finance, the environment — even adventure sports. This is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about our local Girl Scouts and how to get involved.”
Desserts First tickets are $30; corporate table sponsorships are $1,000. Purchase tix online or at the office, 711 Jefferson St. For more info, call Aretta, 933.3010.
