Flippin’ Flapjacks for St. Nick’s!

Leadership Paducah Class #24 is Flipping Flapjacks for St. Nick’s! Join the class, 7-11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church as they serve up flapjacks while raising funds and awareness for this worthy cause!

The St. Nicholas Family Clinic opened on Oct. 18, 1994, to provide free diagnostic and treatment services to working individuals and their families who do not have medical insurance or financial resources necessary to pay for private insurance and/or medical care.

alt textThe clinic offers medical services to children and adults in Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton, Hickman, Livingston, McCracken and Marshall counties in Kentucky and Massac County in Illinois, and it does so with no federal or state funding. The Clinic is staffed entirely by volunteers with the exception of an Executive Director, a Nurse Practitioner and three Department Managers. There were more than 4,100 volunteer hours provided last year. Funding is provided through grants and donor contributions.

In 2010, 2,395 patients were treated and nearly 14,000 prescriptions were filled at no charge. Qualified patients are not eligible to receive any health benefits from state or federal government. Additionally, they must have income that falls within the federal poverty guidelines.

alt textJoin Class #24 for breakfast and learn how you can help St. Nicholas Family Clinic to continue to provide the Gift of Health to families in need right here in the Purchase Area.

Tickets are $5/person and can be purchased at the door. For more information, call 270.851.0354, ext. 107.
