Recognizing Our Gifts: Her Executive Coach
Great careers, beautiful families, BFF friends — and we can rock a sexy stiletto like nobody’s business. Yep, sisters may be doing it for ourselves — but most of us need a little help along the way.
That’s why we’re thankful for Jennifer Wyatt of Her Executive Coach. Whether we’re at the top of our game already or we’re just now studying the cards we’ve been dealt, Jennifer is available to be our “confidential thought partner,” dedicated to supporting our success.
A classic Southern beauty with classic Southern grace and manners — she’s originally from Paducah, but called Oxford, Miss., home for more than a decade, Jennifer oozes with warmth, charm, power and confidence. She holds a psychology degree from the University of Mississippi, and numerous advanced degrees. She’s within weeks of completing a doctorate in educational leadership. And she’s a Certified Professional Coach through the prestigious College of Executive Coaching.
Her ready and encouraging smile says it all: Jennifer wants to partner with women and organizations to strengthen our resiliency and help us achieve our professional and personal goals.
Jennifer focuses her services on three key areas:
Executive Coaching. Opening a business? Considering a career change? Jennifer can help us find the competitive edge we need by creating a strategic career plan, sharpening our leadership and management skills, identifying advancement opportunities and inspiring our peak performance.
Corporate Training and Development. Jennifer brings a fresh prospective and solutions related to professional development, time management, team building, communication, stress relief and other challenging workplace situations. She offers on-site workshops and seminars, and has plenty of experience working with healthcare, insurance, banking/finance, transportation, retail/spa, education and nonprofit clients.
Life Coaching for Women. How do we women pull off such great careers and personal lives so seamlessly and easily? We don’t. Or at least not without some support. Through one-on-one coaching sessions, Jennifer helps us identify the lives we want to lead and works with us to customize an action plan to maximize our time, prioritize daily objectives and reconnect with our core values.
Frazzled? Turn Fear Into Fuel
For most clients, Jennifer says it’s a matter of letting go of old, comfortable but unproductive habits and focusing on what’s really important.
“It is amazing to see the renewed energy and enthusiasm clients experience when they begin replacing obstacles and self-doubt with new opportunities,” Jennifer says. “When I work with women one-on-one, they feel empowered to share their goals and dreams without the fear of judgment or criticism. We turn fear into fuel to power their journey to their goal achievement.”
Consider the experience of this female business owner, who asked not to be named — all of Jennifer’s services are confidential:
“When I first came to see Jennifer, I was frazzled, exhausted and overwhelmed. My life felt so out of balance — trying to manage my family, my business and the health of my aging parents. Jennifer gave me direction to refocus my attention on my priorities and to let go of things that were draining my energy. Now, I feel more confident in my business decisions and can enjoy quality time with my family.”
How The Process Works
Sound interesting? Then take Jennifer up on her offer of a complimentary coaching session in her warm and cozy Her Executive Coach office at 3003 Oregon St., behind CVS in Lone Oak.
Jennifer begins by taking clients through a series of assessments to measure core competencies, and then facilitates a discussion around vision, goals and desires.
“I ask hard questions,” Jennifer says. “We look at your life and priorities now and we compare that with the life and priorities you’d like to have going forward.
“If you’re doing something now that conflicts with the priorities that you’ve identified as important to you, then I tell you to stop doing whatever that thing is that’s taking up your valuable time. It’s exciting to help someone declutter their lives.”
From there, Jennifer maps out a customized plan of action, and meets with clients weekly — usually over three to six months — to provide support and feedback.
“It is interesting because I have served such a diverse group of women in my private practice — physicians, small business owners, single moms, accountants, educators,” Jennifer notes. “Even though their stories may be different, I have observed a common theme among these women. They are giving, nurturing, loving, and they’re committed to their families, friends, career, church and community. But they often neglect to spend the necessary time to invest in their own well-being.
“I tell my clients how to say no,” Jennifer adds. “I give them permission to invent themselves — for them to answer, What do you want your day to look like? What do you want to see happen and what are ways to make that happen?”
And after several months of developing new habits and remaining accountable for reaching goals — Jennifer’s clients soon find themselves living the life they’ve dreamed of living.
“It’s all about creating a vision for your future, achieving goals and building resiliency to withstand times of stress and change,” Jennifer says. “I focus on solutions — especially during difficult times. It’s critical to live authentically, communicate and use our time wisely, recognize potential obstacles and learn from successes.”
Retail Therapy
There’s no reason we can’t look cute and feel great while learning from our successes! For this, Jennifer has an online store featuring unique jewelry and handbags along with other essentials women need like candles, spa products and inspirational items.
She also has a darling wellness boutique for clients within her Her Executive Coach office, filled with fun and beautiful jewelry, relaxation spa wraps and a line of gorgeous gratitude journals.
The wellness boutique is open to everyone the first Friday of each month. In fact, her “Fabulous First Friday” jewelry trunk shows have been a huge success!
An Attitude of Gratitude
Which brings us to why the holiday season is so special to Jennifer. Girlfriend is big on gratitude. She writes in her own gratitude journal each morning, and at night she records her big achievements of the day and her vision for the next day.
She even started a 21-Day Gratitude Challenge on her Facebook page, inviting friends to leave comments describing what they’re thankful for.
“I thank God each day for my job and the ability to do what I love each and every day,” Jennifer says. “I love seeing people grow personally and professionally. One of my favorite verses is displayed above the mantle in my office: ‘For where your heart is, there will be your treasure also.’”
Amen, sister, amen.
