Leadership Paducah’s Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk, Benefits Family Service Society

Leadership Paducah Class #23 hosts the first Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk, benefiting Family Service Society to help expand the agency’s dental program. $25. Register at 7 a.m.; run promptly at 8 a.m. The run starts in Stuart Nelson Park, moves to the Greenway Trail and to Noble Park then returns to Stuart Nelson. This should be a fast, flat course. Female students of all ages are invited to the Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative, a free regional forum focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Parents and business and community members are welcome, too! The event is designed to encourage girls to pursue these fields and to introduce them to prominent women in these disciplines. Motivational panelists include Dr. Evelyn Jones, WellSprings; Jennifer Rukavina, WPSD-TV; Jeanne Davis, UK Extension; La Donna Knoth, Marquette Barge Co.; Mary Pettus-Roland, Paducah Funeral Home; and Dianne Leveridge, Project Lead the Way.
