I’m a busy girl. Shuffling the kids to their extracurricular activities, work, laundry, cooking, cleaning, social events - the list of to-dos goes on and on.
Hectic schedules can definitely take their toll on stress levels, and like the old saying goes, “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” Sometimes I wonder how I’ll make it through the week. I know how important it is to make time for myself to relax and recharge, but let’s face it, Calgon couldn’t even come close to taking me away.
I need a sweet escape. And luckily, I found it with Medical Spa Seven’s Spa Weekend Destination Packages. Their fabulous spa services are combined with a relaxing stay at Paducah’s premier hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites. Three levels of the packages are available to offer something for every budget, making them a great option for those traveling to Paducah and a sweet, close-to-home escape for those of us who live here.
One phone call to the spa does it all. Read on to live vicariously through me, and then call to book a spa weekend destination of your own. You know you deserve it.

Once you walk through the doors of Medical Spa Seven, you immediately notice its upscale décor and soothing ambiance. In keeping with Paducah’s artistic inspirations, the walls of the spa are graced with the works of artists both local and from around the world.
I arrived a few minutes early to fill out the necessary first-time paperwork and was then guided to one of the relaxation rooms to change into a robe and slippers. I got started with an hour-long Swedish Massage that was out of this world. My massage therapist’s talented hands were accompanied by soft soothing music, the oh-so relaxing sounds of water over rocks from the tabletop water feature and softly dimmed lights.
Besides feeling so good, massage is important because it is the only way to release all the built up toxins in our muscles, it improves circulation and did I mention IT FEELS SO GOOD?
Next up was my custom facial with one of the spa’s licensed aestheticians. Since everyone’s skin is different, Medical Spa Seven tailors facials specifically to each client. All the products used for my facial were from the Eminence Organics line, made from the highest-quality, all-natural ingredients. A deep cleansing came first, then my skin was analyzed to determine its condition and type. Exfoliation with steam was next, and while waiting for the steam to do its work, I received a hand massage and then my hands were placed in warming mitts for the rest of the facial experience.
Exfoliation was followed by a treatment mask which was left on while I received a neck and shoulder massage. A facial massage was next and finally it was time to moisturize, apply sun protection and the Eminence eye and lip treatment.
The custom facial lasts around an hour, and if I had to describe it in one word, luscious is the first thing that comes to mind. All of the products used feel luxurious and smell wonderful, and like the rest of the spa, the ambiance of the room is soothing and peaceful.
My last treatments were a manicure and pedicure with the spa’s nail technician. I enjoyed great conversation, a hot cup of tea and the perfect way to cap off my time at the spa. The latest colors and best products are offered, and my results were perfect and long lasting…a hot orangey-red, if you’re dying to know.
After a delicious light lunch I was off to the Hampton Inn & Suites just a few blocks away. The Hampton is Paducah’s only premier hotel, has excellent customer service and their list of amenities is long…indoor pool and whirlpool, fitness center, conference room, in-room Internet and wireless, business center, a delicious breakfast buffet - it goes on and on.
I thought about hitting the fitness center but opted to prop my hot orangey-red topped toes up at the pool instead while reading my complimentary USA Today. I indulged in a small bit of Paducah retail therapy later on, strolled to a few of the town’s wonderful galleries, and retired to my room to sleep in the most comfortable bed imaginable.
I couldn’t decide between the firm or soft pillows - so I cuddled up with them all. Needless to say, I had sweet dreams about my sweet escape and awoke rested, refreshed and ready to take on a new week with a new attitude.
Plus, glowing skin and knock-out nails.
Take that, Calgon.
