Men Who Cook: Saturday, March 14
Who doesn't love 'em some Men Who Cook? This
Purchase Area Sexual Assault & Child Advocacy Center fundraiser is back and better than ever — this year with a sports theme, b-ball on big-screen TVs and interactive games all night long!
Set for 7 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at the
Carson Center, Men Who Cook is a fun-filled evening of tailgating, great food, festive drinks, games, live broadcasts of NCAA basketball tournaments and PASAC's famous children's art auction — all to support PASAC's work to end violence.
"We provide services to all victims of any type of sexual crime — regardless of their age," says PASAC's gorgeous executive director Mary Foley. "Since we're funded by grants and donations, Men Who Cook is critical to our agency. We hope everyone will come out to support PASAC and our wonderful chefs."
Celebrity chefs from local businesses, community groups, political arenas — and, we're proud to report, iList Paducah — will put on aprons, prepare great hors d'oeuvres and desserts and serve them from their sports-themed tables.
Among the political chefs: State Representative Brent Housman, County Judge Executive Van Newberry, County Commissioner Jerry Beyer and City Commissioner Richard Abraham. See right for the list so far.
Be sure to stop by these iList Paducah favorites!

Venu Arunajatesan
Venu Arunajatesan is the group leader of Research & Technology for
Evonik Industries, which is all perfectly fine and we're sure brings in all sorts of great R&D for the world. But we love him because he's been married to the gorgeous Shannon Stull for seven years — look how darling they are!
"Cooking is one of our favorite activities," Venu says. "We cook food from all over the world — Italian, Indian, Mexican, Thai, etc. As busy as we are, this is one of the few things that can hold us together at least for a few hours! It gives me a great satisfaction to participate in this excellent event for PASAC!"
Look for their table decorated in honor of the University of Kansas Jayhawks — that's the university where Venu and Shannon met! This dazzling duo will serve up margherita pizza!
The Baker
His real name is Josh Ryan, but everyone just calls him The Baker. He's baked at
Kirchhoff's Deli and Bakery since the doors reopened in 1997, arriving each morning at 4 a.m. to get the bread ovens going.
"A friend of mine told Louie that I was a pastry chef and baker — but I wasn't either of those things," The Baker recalls. "Louie interviewed me, and I schmoozed my way through it. It's been like an apprenticeship ever since."
Now an expert baker and Kirchhoff's part owner, The Baker calls his artistry a labor of love. "You don't get up at 3:30 a.m. for something you don't want to do," he says. "I love everything about baking, from forming the dough to pulling out the baked bread. It talks to you when it's finished. It sounds like Rice Krispie treats. It's like the first time every time."
For Men Who Cook, The Baker is thinking of preparing Jamaican jerk leg of lamb or Korean BBQ. "I'm pulling out all stops," he says. "I'm into it. I love it."
David Boggs
David Boggs is an events expert, lending his special touch to the Paducah Renaissance Alliance. His primary responsibilities are
Barbecue on the River, The Downtown Farmers Market,
Lowertown Art & Music Festival and Downtown After Dinner. He was recently featured in the Girl Scouts' Desserts First fundraiser.

Daniel Case
iDate of the Week
Daniel Case may spend his days as a control and instrumentation expert with Electric Energy Incorporated in Joppa, Ill. But at night, he lights up the dance floor with ballroom, foxtrot, rumba — you name it, he can do it.
Dancing and cooking, all in one guy? Yep, Daniel is a whiz in the kitchen, too.
"I love to cook and, on a personal note, I have family members and friends who have suffered abuse," Daniel says. "I know the damage it causes, and I'm glad to join the team to make a difference for the good."
Check out this hottie's hot wing dip at Men Who Cook — it was a huge hit among friends over the holidays!
Kenn Gray
Model, television host, interior designer, floral designer, event planner and all-around super fabulous fella, Kenn Gray is shakin' things up in Paducah!
Kenn just launched

Kenn and
Kendra have been iDates of the Week!
Stop by their gorgeous table where they'll dish up Praline n Pork Tenderloin on crostini!

DJ Urban Kobbb
Businessman by day, aspiring DJ when the mood hits him, Hannan Supply CEO Bruce Brockenborough, aka
DJ Urban Kobbb, loves cooking almost as much as he loves laying down smooth sounds for parties and events.
This will be his third year as a Men Who Cook chef. This time around, DJUK plans to spin up gourmet pizzas!
"There's a long tradition of men in Paducah who are excellent cooks," Bruce says. "I love to cook and am proud to contribute to this special PASAC event. Abuse and violence of any type is unacceptable — no one should ever tolerate that kind of behavior, whether they experience it personally or know that someone else is being victimized. I'm thankful we have PASAC to take care of the survivors and help them rebuild their lives."
About PASAC
The Purchase Area Sexual Assault and Child Advocacy Center is a 501c3, not-for-profit agency, contracted with the state of Kentucky to provide services to all victims of any type of sexual crime.
The center is designated to provide services to children, adolescents and adult victims as well as their friends and families.
Since its 1987 inception, the agency has served victims with legal/medical advocacy and support, crisis intervention, a 24-hour crisis line, therapy and prevention programming. In 2007, PASAC became the regional Child Advocacy Center, and now provides forensic services and specialized children’s services to better assist law enforcement, social services and the community in dealing with this devastating crime.
