Paducah Symphony’s Seasonal Sounds!

alt textMagnificent! Exhilarating! Spectacular! Brilliant! Paducah Symphony Orchestra’s Artistic Director & Conductor Raffaele Ponti has plenty of beautiful sounds planned for this season!

September’s Magnificent and October’s Exhilarating concerts were exactly that!

Here’s what’s ahead:

Saturday, Dec. 11
Spectacular! The Annual Christmas & Holiday POPS
7:30 p.m.
(A Touch of Class-ical Pre-Concert Chat at 7 p.m.)

Raffaele Ponti, Artistic Director & Conductor;
Brad Almquist, Director of Choruses

Featuring Seven Special Guest Soloists & a Visitor from the North Pole! Sing along to your favorite Christmas and Holiday tunes with the Paducah Symphony Chorus, Children’s Chorus and the Paducah POPS Orchestra. This yearly celebration is a mixture of symphonic sugar and spice sure to have you humming and in the holiday spirit. Make this event a Family Tradition.


Saturday, Feb. 19
Brilliant! 

7:30 p.m.
(A Touch of Class-ical Pre-Concert Chat at 7 p.m.)

Raffaele Ponti, Artistic Director & Conductor
The PSO takes on the Brilliant Big Screen with a program of music from Academy Award-winning films — an evening complete with a red carpet and Paducah’s own paparazzi.
Concert Program: Rossini’s Overture to William Tell, J. Williams’ Theme from Schindler’s List, Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture, Gould’s American Salute, J. Horner’s Theme from Titanic and many more bedazzling film favorites.

Triumphant!

(A Touch of Class-ical Pre-Concert Chat at 7 p.m.)

Raffaele Ponti, Artistic Director & Conductor;
Brad Almquist, Director of Choruses, and the Paducah Symphony Chorus

This concert will feature the winners of the 2011 Young Artist Competition selected at the Competition Showcase on Jan. 22 at Murray State University.
Concert Program: Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite, Young Artist Competition Winner Concertos and Cherubini’s Requiem Mass in c minor.
