About the Juror: Tina Mabry

She got her start at the University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television, where she was awarded an MFA in Film Production. While participating in Film Independents (FIND) Project: Involve, Tina finished developing her short film, Brooklyn’s Bridge to Jordan, which was accepted into more than 50 film festivals worldwide and won multiple Jury and Audience Awards, along with an award for Best Director. Tina recently co-wrote a feature screenplay entitled Itty Bitty Titty Committee, which was directed by Jamie Babbit (But I’m a Cheerleader, Nip/Tuck, Ugly Betty). The film premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival (2007) and won Best Feature Narrative at the South by Southwest Film & Music Festival (2007).
Tina’s film Mississippi Damned opens the Festival Thursday, Nov. 4. The film will begin at 7 p.m., with a Q & A Session directly following.
