STEM Forum: Inspiring Girls With Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Somewhere in the four rivers region of west Kentucky, a young girl dreams of becoming tomorrow’s scientist, mathematician, engineer or technology wizard.
Fortunately for her, those dreams have a far better chance of becoming reality thanks to the Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative Project, an initiative designed to educate and encourage girls to study — and pursue careers in — science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
On Thursday, May 6, girls of all ages (and their parents and interested community members) are invited to Paducah’s first Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative Forum. This free event is set for 4-6 p.m., at WKCTC’s beautiful Emerging Technology Center.
The highlight of the event? Check out the flyer and this incredible panel of prominent women professionals:
Jennifer Rukavina, WPSD-TV- Jeanne Davis, Cooperative Extension Service LaDonna Knoth, Marquette Transportation
- Mary Pettus-Rowland, Pettus Rowland Funeral Home
- Dianne Leveridge, UK College of Engineering, Project Lead the Way
- Dr. Evelyn Jones, WellSprings Dermatology
Look for our iList Paducah booth, complete with Vera Piggsley photo ops!
Many thanks to the Chamber’s Business Education Partnership folks for partnering with the Kentucky Girls STEM Collaborative to coordinate this event. Key sponsors include WellSprings Dermatology, USEC, Kentucky Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Paducah River City BPW, UK College of Engineering, Murray State University, WKCTC and Swift & Staley.
