Breaking the Ice Speed Dating and Singles Mixer

OK, I’m not gonna lie to you. Our Breaking the Ice Speed Dating and Singles Mixer event ROCKED. It was so much fun - even for a very happily married gal like me, on hand to help keep things moving along.

You may know that iList Paducah co-hosted this event last Saturday night, May 30, with Harrah’s Metropolis. We’d been promoting it for more than a month and were just BLOWN AWAY by the energy, enthusiasm, food, bar, music…

...and for all you single men out there who didn’t think there’s be hot, gorgeous women there, may I present to you…

alt text   alt text

Yeah. See? I TOLD YOU.

And single women who thought there’d be no cute guys?

alt text alt text alt text

Ah, HELLO? Are they cute enough for you?

And there were tons more just like ‘em! We had about 60 really great folks — divided pretty evenly between men and women — with a wonderful diversity of ages and backgrounds.

And one common theme: They just wanted to meet people and try something new.

And in my book, that just ROCKS.

So here’s how it worked. We divided the group into three tables, men facing the women. Each pair chatted and, after a mere two minutes, the women shifted down a seat.

alt textEveryone was given cards to mark — yes, if they wanted to see that particular person again; no, if it wasn’t a match.

After everyone met everyone at a particular table, we took a little bar and boogie break. Then the men returned to their same seats (HOW EASY IS THAT?) and the women moved on to the next table — and so on, until everyone had a chance to meet everyone.

I mean, look! There were so many great women that Boone Reed (left) had to keep his own personal note card to keep track!

alt textAnd aren’t they darling?

alt textLaura K., our lovely emcee for the evening, has gone through all the cards and is now contacting folks with their mutual matches. So hopefully we’ll have some fun news to report— and some future iDates of the Week to feature!

Many thanks to DJ Mitch Myers - he helped Laura keep the place hoppin’.

And thanks, everyone — especially to Harrah’s Metropolis. It was extremely fun, and we’d DEFINITELY do it again!
