AKC All Breed Dog Show
Mark your calendars for some great big goings on right here in Paducah for dog folk!
Did you know that for the last 50-some years, Paducah has hosted an AKC all breed dog show? That folks come from as far as Florida and Wisconsin with their champions and hopefuls to compete? Well, it’s high time you checked it out! It’s coming right up on June 12 and 13, and our great good friends at the Paducah Bank are once again sponsoring Best In Show. (Why yes, Paducah Bank does ROCK!!!)
On Saturday there are 545 dogs entered, and on Sunday a whopping 562 dogs are coming to the Paducah Kennel Club’s lovely property on Fisher Road. Those numbers are up nicely from last year. There are directions to the property on the PKC’s blog. As the info becomes available, we’ll post the show schedule so you can see which breeds will show when. There is a $3 per car parking fee, or you can get a weekend pass for $5. There will be barbeque for sale on the grounds, if you plan on having lunch out.
But that’s not all, not by a long shot! The very next weekend the Paducah Kennel Club’s June Agility Trial will be held out at the Sports Plex. You know, where the dogs fly over jumps, zoom through tunnels, climb A-frames and teeter totters,and zip through the weave poles. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 18th – 20th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., dogs will be having as much fun as is legal. And their people will try to keep up with them! Admission is free for spectators, and PKC members will be available to explain what is going on.
