Lovin’ Them Tender: Elvis Hobson

Meet Elvis Hobson.

Elvis is one lucky fat cat! And this handsome dude is a hunka hunka burnin' love. He was found in a Nashville ditch, and then adopted by Jonathan and Cindy Hobson.

Elvis lives in the Hobson's beautiful home, 719 Madison St., designed by LowerTown architect Louis Lovera. The home features Jonathan's exciting new art supply store, The Canvas Room, on the first level.

Like his namesake, Elvis is oh so handsome and positively charismatic. The big guy is a flirt.

"He is so social," Jonathan says. "He loves to p-l-a-y."

Elvis also has an extensive vocabulary, hence the need for spelling.

Cindy works in Harrah's marketing department. Elvis was her Valentine's Day gift from Jonathan, "and he'll never top that, but he's welcome to keep trying," she says.

Elvis, officially a Flame Point Siamese, is joined in the Hobson household by his girlfriend Mocha, a Seal Point who came from a Siamese Rescue group in Virginia. Mocha might argue the "girlfriend" status, but hey, it's Elvis!

"They are comical. I'll be working down in the shop and I'll hear their feet zooming back and forth across the ceiling," laughs Jonathan, rolling his eyes.

"They stay inside 24/7," Cindy asserts. "We love our cats, and we don't want them run over, stolen or killed by the feral cats around here."

Jonathan pipes up, with a devilish grin, "Not to mention the eight whippets on the corner." (Hey!!! The whippets love them some kitties. Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Naughty, naughty dogs.)

Cindy, appropriately ignoring her husband, continues, "I couldn't fathom coming home and seeing Elvis or Mocha hurt – or worse. They are such a big part of our lives. Since they're indoor cats, we are their pack."

"Elvis's eyes are so trusting," adds Jonathan. He's apparently forgiven the human race for the whole dumped in a ditch episode.

Rock on, Elvis!
