Lucy Barks

While they may have gotten off to a somewhat poopy start, Paducah Bank Senior VP and Trust Officer Lesa Barks finds sunshine every day in her sweet golden retriever, Lucy. And, really? Is there a better name for a dog than Lucy Barks?

alt textLesa tells us her story:

I’m the proud servant to my sweet golden retriever, Lucy.  Lucy is 13 years young and is patiently learning to live peacefully with two cats!

I had never had a dog before, and a woman brought this adorable puppy to Paducah Bank, where I work. I was hooked.

My BFF and I went out at lunch and bought all the supplies I needed. I picked Lucy up that afternoon.

I gently placed her on her binky in the front seat of my car and started for home.  Two minutes later, Lucy had pooped in my front seat.

alt text“Oh No! What have I gotten myself in to???”

Over the next few years, I bailed her out of “doggie jail” twice — she’d jumped over the backyard fence and was picked up by the animal PoPo. Everyone in my old neighborhood knew the lady running around in her pajamas chasing her dog.

However, to my delight, she has brought me joy, unconditional love, and constant amusement.
The chasing and jumping days are over and Lucy has settled into retirement.  She remains the sunshine to my days. I can only pray that she is as happy as she has made me.
