Mo DeJarnett Invites You to the Marshall County Humane Society Dinner and Auction!
Mason and Valerie DeJarnett and their neighbor found a stray dog in their neighborhood. They all fed him and gave him water until the neighbor found the dog’s owner and returned him to his home, much to Mason and Val’s dismay! After a few days they realized how much they missed him and wanted a dog of their very own. In talking with their neighbor, they learned the dog they befriended was named Mo, and that he was a Yorkiepoo. Mason was very excited about the idea of adopting a hypoallergenic dog!
They began to search local shelters for a Yorkiepoo until they found a white one at the Humane Society of Marshall County named James. Val fell in love with his picture immediately. The next morning they woke up to snow on the ground, but that didn’t stop them. Mason trekked to Marshall County in his (shameless Mike Smith Toyota plug) Toyota 4Runner and they were at the Marshall County Humane Society right when they opened to meet their new puppy in the snow! In celebration of a lost dog finding his home, they decided to name him Mo and they often keep his hair cut in a Mohawk. After getting him settled in they had to get his shots. They took him to Niki Henderson and the gang at the Animal Kare Center and they received a discount because he was adopted! Mo settled in to his new home immediately and has been their best friend ever since. Mason says he couldn’t imagine a day without him!
Mo came to the DeJarnetts from the Humane Society of Marshall County, where they took great care of him until Mason and Val came along. He’d like all the iList Paducah readers to be aware of the Dinner and Auction they are holding Saturday, Oct. 15 to raise money for the Humane Society.
